Round 1A - Battle

Bert fires a dart at Harm from a blowpipe! Harm has been poisoned!
He then coats his dagger in venom and slashes her, dealing 2 damage! Harm's attack decreases!
Harm uses blood magic to create a substitute! She takes 7 damage! The substitute is protecting Harm!
She then meditates, focusing her energy! Her attack returns to normal!
She finishes by wrapping Bert in a Heat Haze!

Bert recovers 5AP (5/6).
Harm recovers 4AP (4/6).
Harm takes 3 damage from poison!
Bert takes 3 damage from the heat!
Harm is being protected by a substitute!
Harm's attack is being boosted by the Power Aura for three more turns!

Bert - 23/26
Harm - 18/30

Deadline for actions is 6PM tomorrow, jumpins after that

Bert stabs at Harm! The substitute takes the hit for her, sustaining 3 damage!
He then throws an acid bomb! The substitute takes another 1 damage! Its defence drops!
Harm fires a bolt of magic at Bert, dealing 7 damage!


Bert recovers 5AP (5/6).
Harm recovers 4AP (5/6).
Bert takes 3 damage from the heat!
Harm takes 3 damage from poison!
Harm is being protected by a substitute! The substitute's defence has been lowered!
Harm's attack is being boosted by the Power Aura for another two turns!

Bert - 13/26
Harm - 15/30

i assumed the thing would die after one hit

also i think debuffs only last one turn rip

The substitute is essentially the same as in Pokemon, it has the same HP as is sacrificed, only difference is the sub takes debuffs (which last three turns usually, it's just you debuffed and Hoyle buffed so it cancelled out)

Bert throws a smoke bomb at the floor, obscuring the arena! His evasion is boosted for the turn!
He then lunges through the haze and slashes Harm's substitute with his Leech Blade, dealing 5 damage! The substitute fades! Bert recovers 3HP!
Harm fires a bolt of magic at Bert, but it misses...

Bert recovers 5AP (6/6).
Harm recovers 4AP (6/6).
Bert takes 3 damage from the heat!
Harm takes 3 damage from poison!
Harm's attack is being boosted by the Power Aura for one more turn!

Bert - 13/26
Harm - 12/30

He follows up with a knife slash, dealing 5 damage!
Harm fires two bolts of magic at Bert, dealing 14 damage! Bert is defeated!

Harm is victorious!
She gains 12 EXP! Level up!
Vitality +10 -> 70 (35HP)
Power +8 -> 68 (6Atk)
Fortitude +2 -> 14 (1Def)
Agility +5 -> 53 (5Spd)
Dexterity +9 -> 69 (6AP)
Harm has 6 stat points to spend freely!

It was a tough battle, but Harm has done it! She's taken down Bert and progresses to the next round! It's not all over for the Rogue, though; he's still got a chance in the losers' bracket where anything can happen - and by anything, I mean anything, folks! With Round 1A over, it's time to get ready for the next match. While the preparations are underway, make sure to collect your winnings if you bet on our victor!

Jenova and V lose 50 gold!
Met wins 100 gold, plus a further 50 from the losers' pot!

The goofed ordering on the sub was his turning point, up till then it was pretty much anyone's game
Also edited in level up because I forgot first time round woops
