Ta to Jackanapes who made the banner for the last thread, that has been reused multiple times now...
Hello, and welcome all to the brand new brand new Scenes We'd Like To See thread!
As many of you no doubt know, this game was previously run on the old ONM forum but was abandoned by it's hosts and various circumstance meant that the old thread began to fall apart, with the OP being impossible to update and so everything was made up and the points didn't matter, a format which has already been copyrighted. So it's now been rebooted/remade over here, with a bright, sparkly new leaderboard and a not so bright and not so sparkly new host.
For those who don't know, this game is based on rounds from popular Panel shows, including Have I Got News for You and Mock The Week. There are four variations of rounds, the first, "Scenes We'd Like to See", works like this:
A topic will be given, for example, 'Bad Things to Say to Your Parents', and you give your funniest answers to this question, such as 'Whoops, hope you didn't like that car too much'. After a number of entries, they will all be judged with the third place gaining 1 point, second 3 and first 5. You should only use original entries.
The second variation is 'If This is the Answer, What is the Question', which pretty much speaks for itself. You will be judged on the humour in your suggestions, and awarded points accordingly.
The third variation also makes an appearance, although probably much less regularly - the also popular 'Headliners' round from the show. A picture will be posted and a four-letter-abbreviation, and you must come up with a Newspaper headline vaguely related to the picture. Will once again be judged on the humour and cleverness of the entry.
Our fourth and newest addition to the game is the "Missing Words Round", in which a headline will be posted, either from recent news or one of our numerous guest publications, with one or more words missing. You should come up with suitable replacements for these words, with the funniest being awarded points.
Normal Forum rules apply too, so while swearing is now allowed, don't be overly offensive...THE NEW AND IMPROVED RULES
Break any of these and you face sanctions so... err, don't bother.
1) Do not submit any more than two entries in a single round - this prevents spam, which unfortunately closed some old versions of the game.
2) Use ONLY original entries. This is not a game of see who can find the best quote from Mock the Week, or any like programme. We will find out if you have adapted a different answer!
3) Do not argue with the judging of the game, or accuse bias. The judgers of this game will always judge fairly, no matter who it is entering and whether they are on a winning streak or not. The author is not looked at when choosing winners.
4) Have fun! Try to be as funny as possible - this should be a funny game to read through, so entertain yourselves
Also, if anyone wants to know, here are the results for the last round over on ONM.
