I hope bag space has been increased. One of my pet hates for Gen 1!

I doubt Pokemon Bank is compatible with these?

The bag space isn't that bad if you just store every tm and used key item you get on your pc. And it doesn't really factor into the speed runs.

And no it probably won't be compatible with pokemon bank, they're releasing a mew event why even have it if you can just glitch mew and then bank it over, especially with some tms learnt that are no longer available in the games.

Nothing better than a team of Level 100 Mewtwos brought about by glitches.
<Kaeetayel> Go for a team entirely composed of Eeveelutions
<Princess> that's effort
<Princess> I need to buy the stones/go to rocks/make them happy/touch Eevee
<Kaeetayel> The last one doesn't sound too bad

Never been the biggest fan of Poision types until Gen 6. Generally I stuck to Super Effective moves throughout playing the game when possible and so usually didn't bother with Poison moves because they were only good against Grass, an effectiveness that Fire and Flying also cover but much better. When they revealed the Fairy type I suspected that Poison might be good against it since they'd already revealed that it would be good against Dragons.

As for the Gen I games, I might consider buying a digital copy of Pokemon Red if only because it was my first game. I traded it away in favour of getting Leaf Green but I still kind of wish I had my original copy. But then again it seems like a sentimental purchase and I'm not sure that would be worth my while after downloading Metroid Prime Trilogy on the Wii U just to own it (having played all three games multiple times before).

There's even more nostalgia to be gained from the VC versions as well.

Why did I forget how much of a liverpool tart brock is with Charmander as your starter in Red and Blue. Nidorans don't get double kick until level 40+, and mankey isn't around, so you're basically stuck with butterfree, and caterpie appears to be particularly rare in red.

Well my Charizard only run is going pretty well, Misty was a bit of a pain with her Starmie and I'm now just about to board the S.S. Anne, leaving it as a Charmeleon until level 42 when it finally learns flamethrower, it's currently 37 so not too long to wait. Had to evolve it into a Charmeleon before Brock though, he didn't pose any problem though.

Decided to do a Nuzlocke in Yellow, lucked out and caught Joe the Mankey next to Viridian so Brock shouldn't be too hard. Party is currently Pikachu, Joe, Lui the Nidoran and Meterpie (soon to be Met-apod).

I'd honestly forgotten how many critical hits you got in this game, Lt. Surge went down with 3 slashes (all critical hits) from my Charmeleon (who is now a level 43 Charizard), I'm just about to enter Rock Tunnel. Already looking forward to playing Yellow again already in a more traditional play style.

Anyone else really wanting Nintendo/Gamefreak to release Gold/Silver/Crystal on the virtual console now? Now I've played gen 1 again I've really got the itch to go and play gen 2 again, but I can't with my internal battery on Gold being dead :( I don't really fancy deleting my game on Heart Gold either.

I'm pretty sure Slash will always land a critical hit if you're above a certain number in Speed.

I also decided to Nuzlocke Yellow but I'm very bad at it, already forgot to catch the Pokémon on Route 2 then immediately forgot again two minutes later in Viridian Forest so now I need to face Brock with just Pikachu and Nidoran. rip

Brock is piss easy you have ember and growl by then, they have eton mess special and bide can be played around with easily. There is no reason for that fight to be hard with any starter.

Misty however is the destroyer of souls. I need a new ds charger as mines bust so happly sitting around after beating my rival on yellow outside the league.

My Charizard is only at 117 speed at the moment at level 43 (no idea if 117 speed is good or not, but he out-speeds everything I've come into contact with so far, partly because of his level advantage over the other Pokemon) and 9 times out of 10 he lands a critical with slash, not complaining though.

Is it me or do pokemon miss a lot more on these older games? My Pikachu missed 4 times in a row with thundershock, Butterfree has missed with tackle a few times too :/

Can confirm, as I've done a good thirty odd and they've all critted.

Starmie was literally the only problem in this entire run (and one time with Blue when he got several Sand Attacks in a row and I was too stubborn to switch in a munchkin), and I don't see me struggling again until Loreli.

It's just you, every attack has a 1/256 chance to miss but that's not really going to account for that, that said thundershock and tackle are 100% and 95% accurate respectively so unless you managed to hit that 1/256 chance consecutively with Pikachu something else must have happened such as evasion/accuracy buffs.
