I'd forgotten that poke balls could actually miss their target in this game as well, anyone know why?

Also I can't remember, is there PP ups in the gen 1 games?

It was simply in lieu of the pokéball breaking without shaking, same mechanic but different message.

Ah fair enough, kind of trying to catch everything I see so I can at least have a Pokedex of 50 (so I can get the EXP share although if I remember correctly it isn't hugely overpowered in gen 1), it's the first time it's done it on me so far.

Yeah, early game stuff generally has a higher catch rate so it's not something you instantly see.

The Rage problem's already been mentioned, but don't do it against Lorelei's Dewgong. If you do, you end up in a constant cycle where you are always using Rage and the Dewgong is constantly Resting. So unless you have extereme patience waiting for Rest's PP to run out it takes absolutely forever to get anywhere and you just can't get anywhere.

...
BEEDRILL used RAGE
Enemy DEWGONG used REST
BEEDRILL used RAGE
Enemy DEWONG is fast asleep
BEEDRILL used RAGE
Enemy DEWONG woke up
BEEDRILL used RAGE
Enemy DEWGONG used REST
etc.
...

I couldn't be bothered to wait until it run out of PP at the time, my 12 year old self was still too young to properly understand the complexities of RPG mechaniacs so I just switched the game off and lost progress as a result.

I defeated Misty's Starmie through Paras' stun spore and good ol' wrap mechanics from Ekans.

Do NPCs lose pp now or do they still have infinite

Nope, Mew can be withdrawn from the PC. I got one just before Cerulean Gym, got it off the PC, and it's been a part of my team since. I've put Mew back in once or twice and withdrawn it later with no problem. Got a second later on, no problems there either.

Also, what exactly is the Special stat in RBY?

I'm wondering if mew can be pokebanked from gen 1 onto the other games. Has anyone tried to yet?

Forgot how limiting the bag/PC is for items, I've only put mainly TM's, HM's, rare candy and items I can't throw in my PC and I've run out of space already, the bag doesn't hold much either.

Anyone know much about the Missingno glitch? So far as, what will happen from merely encountering it? Apparently it messes up any existing hall of fames, but I think that might be it. If that's all encountering does then I'll do the duplication glitch.

Apart from the garbled Hall of Fame data, it doesn't do much other than a few graphical glitches, which can be fixed by viewing a Pokédex entry.

On a completely different note, here's a tip for everyone. Switch the sound to 'Earphones' in the option menu. You'll get stereo sound through the 3DS speakers, and it'll sound much clearer.

was that the same for "pokemon is too big for the pokeball"?

I have vivid memories of trying to catch a snorlax and that message constantly popping up and infuriating me.

I've never heard of that message before, can't seem to find any info on it for searching it either so you sure that's what it said?

I still remember on one playthrough of the game the S.S. Anne left before I could get the Cut HM so I couldn't progress through the game. However, having stated it before on ONM I have often been assured by others that it shouldn't have happened. Still remember it happening though so must have been some freak glitch.

If that did happen then congrats, you've found an unrecorded glitch that doesn't seem to have been posted on the internet anywhere.

Nah, the S.S. Anne leaving without you was just a rumour. We heard it here too.
