That would be my job but I'm getting the minibus down so I kinda can't do two things at once.

Doesn't look like I'll be able to attend Regionals D: Since early season seems to matter a lot now I'm going to have to hope for more events to attend in 2016 for any hope of getting to Worlds. This looks unlikely seeing as the PC situation still hasn't improved

Not feeling confident in the sand team I've been running the last month or so. It's good, I enjoy it, but it seems to be matching up poorly with the current meta (less rain and more perish/Smeargle). I might just steal an existing team from Nugget Bridge, edit it and use that one.

Well, I've not played Pokemon for many months and since getting to London would cost close to £200 and two nights of sleep, so not going to that regionals, which I think is this weekend. But apparently there's a stream with Marti and Serebii commentating which is nice as we rarely get our events streamed. Well, at I assume we don't. I'm normally at them so don't notice...

I've been focusing on singles a lot more recently, rather than doubles. It feels good having a bit of variety, instead of just training Pokémon for one format. I'll likely return to doubles/VGC once the VGC '16 rules are announced.

Yeah I was supposed to be there but after discovering that the minibus would be setting off at 4am I decided it really wasn't worth it.

Sounds like a bit of a mess of a day with delays and stuff, so rather glad I didn't go. Not that I've really touched VGC in ages. Like, since nationals... I think? I did read BadIntent's article on NuggetBridge about Hyper Offence and that did kind of inspire me because that's a style of play I like and have never really known how to put into team building. So maybe I will actually give something a go.

I went 3-4 with a team I put together two days beforehand because my Sand team that I've been using the last 2-3 months did really badly on the new Battle Spot ladder. Kyriakou on the other hand got top cut using almost exactly the sand team I dropped XD

There's a lesson there somewhere. Probably two or three of them tbh :P

Yeah, but Kyriakou's one of those guys who could probably cut with a Landorus weak team blindfolded. I wouldn't read that much into it.

So started work on some team building ahead of Glasgow because I really want to take it seriously. I know I said Monotype/other gimmick or bust. And it will probably be that way for Nationals. But after reminding myself of the London Gamerbase tournament I finished 3rd in back in 2011, I got all sentimental and with Glasgow falling on more or less the 5th anniversary, I feel like I owe it to myself to try and return to such glory days. If only for one event. I want to know that I can reach some level of success if I try. My one thing is that in a couple of test games on Showdown, EVERYONE was using Perish Trap and I'm already bored out of my mind playing against it. Is that all this metagame is now?

It's definitely just a Showdown trend and not representative of tournament results, although you ought to prepare for it seeing as the UK is home to two of the best Perish players in VGC. Look at the recent Regionals tournament results to get a better picture of the metagame

Looked on NB, but there doesn't seem to be any top finishing team lists for recent events and I can't even find any dedicated thread to any of the UK Regionals.

Yeah his blog is definitely the best resource for UK/EU teams and tournament results right now. Top guy too.
I feel like I should get back into Pokemon, but I really want the format announcing first. Hopefully it'll be with us in the next few weeks since the Worlds location has been announced/leaked (as in the venue). There's also PCs potentially being organised in the Nottingham area soonish, so I'll keep people updated on that as things happen :v

I'm so disappointed that they've used this format. Like, super disappointed. I'm not a fan of using ubers in general, let alone in competitive play.

*sigh*

The thing I don't like is having to try and catch decent IV and nature legendaries.
