Wikipedia wrote:Pokkén Tournament is an upcoming arcade fighting game developed by Bandai Namco Entertainment, in collaboration with The Pokémon Company. The game combines gameplay elements from Bandai Namco's Tekken series with characters from the Pokémon franchise. It is planned for release in Japanese arcades in 2015, with international release plans and Nintendo exclusive console ports yet to be announced.

Pokkén Tournament, similar to the Tekken series, is a fighting game in which two fighters battle against each other using various Pokémon. Unlike most arcade fighting games, which use a traditional joystick and buttons, the arcade version is played using console-style controllers, which are designed so that players who are not used to arcade sticks can get into the game more easily. The game is planned to focus more on action, as opposed to the more technical gameplay of Tekken, allowing both hardcore and casual fans to enjoy it. As such, players can perform various techniques taken from the Pokémon series, such as special moves and Mega Evolutions (which can be built up from attacks using a "Resonance Gauge"). The game will not feature fighters from the Tekken series.

Gengar trailer was pretty awesome, looks like it'll be a fun, simplified fighter

I want to be hyped for this but it's an arcade release, and even if it got Wii U release I don't think I'd buy a Wii U just for Pokken. :(

To be honest the fact that it's getting an arcade release for me makes it more interesting. It means it's likely to actually be made with other fighters in mind with it, even if it is more basic, but yeah, the problem is the WiiU will be the only console to see it, I suppose it'll always be there if I ever want to get a WiiU.

It basically takes the number of games I'd want to get if I ever got a WiiU to 3. Kind of pleased that it's a bit simpler than most fighters since I am pretty bad at fighting games, but I'd still be interested in trying it.

Well the arcade version is going to use a gamepad, which means porting it would be a piece of piss

Overall I'm feeling good about the game so far, not a reason to buy a Wii U but perhaps a nice pick up if I ever do get round to buying one.

I do think its nice they are trying to have a wide variety of Pokemon, my first fear when I saw this was that it was going to be all bipedal fighting types but the additions of Suicune and to the lesser extent Gengar have assured me that it won't be the case

Would be sick if they added ditto in and he could transform into any of the other fighters on a whim but with a slightly more limited moveset to balance it out.

Weavile looks like he's all about the counter plays and I'm fine with that. Looking forward to seeing this whenever it does get ported, kind of wish we had arcades here though and we could get some cabinets but that's not going to happen.

Where's Blaziken? He's still in it right? They couldn't have excluded him, that'd be silly. If suicune gets in and Blaziken doesn't, I'm going to right a strongly worded letter to the guy i hired to blow up gamefreak.
