Responsive site design/mobile friendly
The forum will now respond dynamically to being resized, and also displays a lot better at lower resolutions and screen sizes. Using Super ONM on a mobile device should now be much easier!
You can now receive notifications for different events on the forum, such as being quoted in a topic or being sent a PM. Notifications make it easier to keep track of conversations you are a part of across the forum!
The ONM Classic and Super ONM styles have been recreated for the new forum. All existing user preferences have been reset due to the styles being recreated, so if you want to switch back to the Super ONM style please do so from the user control panel. The alternative Super Blue style has not been continued. Super ONM is no longer full screen width at all screen resolutions due to the new responsive site design, but it does have a greater maximum width than the default ONM Classic style. This should be improved sometime in the future.
What's still to do?
Banner archive migration
All of our old site banners will be transferred across and stored in a more robust manner. Until then the current banner archive thread is broken and will not display the old banners.
The old front page images will not be maintained on the new server (although I have a personal archive for posterity).
Following the server migration and forum upgrade, the next big change in the works is switching from http to https. This will mean a better website from a security and privacy perspective, and more favourable rankings on search engines such as google.
Further style tweaks and support
The Super ONM style will be updated to handle full screen width at all resolutions at a later date. If there is demand for the Super Blue style it can be recreated once the full screen width fix has been applied to Super ONM, as it will also rely on it.
Please let us know if anything appears broken or if you come across any issues with the new design. We've tested it as best as we can but there will always be little niggles that slip by, and any feedback is always appreciated!
