Been playing Civ V again. Mostly with loads of mods enabled nowadays. Because there's something fun about forging the ultimate alliance between Russia, Dr Eggman and Hatsume Miku and nuking Robb Stark. Was going for a Culture victory and ended up becoming World Leader and now I'm just trying to rule the entire world. Managed to clear everyone off the east continent and just launched an army of 10 Giant Death Robots, 20 Rocket Artilleries, 10 Battleships and 5 Missile Cruisers with 3 Nuclear missile each (I found a LOT of Uranium) towards the western continent to crush my former allies who started to denounce me after I forced two Civs to retreat the east and restart their entire empires in the west. I don't have to be doing this since I've already won the save, but I want to rule the world.

Try the Europe mod by Geddamon (I think that's how you spell it). Dunno if it was updated for BNW but on G&K it was fantastic. I got Russia to conquer Europe.

World 2014 is amusing too, after only three years I managed to conquer half of Argentina and fill Norway with units in preparation for a Russian invasion. I tried nuking the Russians but turns out that hits Oslo and I go to war with the friendly allied Scandinavians so hmm

I played the World 2014 mod once as Russia. I conquered Scandinavia pretty quickly, joined forces with North Korea t invade South Korea and then misinterpreted the blast range of a nuke and pretty much ended up at war with all of Europe so just nuked the eton mess out of David Cameron for wish fulfilment.

I prefer GDRs + Rocket Artilleries tbh. They can flatten entire empires whereas Nukes do just make a big mess in one place.

Well he's usually got a few nukes of his own. It's Dido and Catherine you've got to watch out for.

Catherine hatesme for some reason. I don't know why. If I had a euro for every time she denounced me I'd have a lot of euros.

Considering I play as her 90% of the time now, there may be a reason for that...

China never last that long.

Nor did I in my latest game. 8 Civs on a Huge ring map with mountains in the middle. Pretty much lost it in the ancient era because Ethiopia and the Incas just grabbed all the land around me and trapped me with 3 cities and very limits resources. Had to destroy the Incas just to get some breathing room. Managed to get back into it only for Mongolia to suddenly start consuming the entire eastern side of the map. My spies and those of all my allies were telling me he was plotting against me and with the Incas gone, he was my eastern neighbour. Ended up making the decision that I have to start cutting him down or I'm gooseberry fool. I pool all of my resources into a war and manage to push him back a little, wiping about 4 or 5 cities over the course of the first half of the 20th century. Only problem was that he made up all that ground conquering Rome and Sweden so essentially lost nothing. Then of course the Cornish mod on the north west corner of the map suddenly get extremely big and OP. They were UN hosts and managed to get a Diplomatic victory on the second attempt in 1968. They were also one off a Cultural victory. Think this is the first game I've actually seen out to defeat. I don't like it.

Just had a quick look and the cheapest I could find was for $7.50, which is £4.81 atm.

Meanwhile I have managed to download 773 MB of Civ V and Steam has estimated it'll take 8 more hours to finish haha nice :^)

Someone's modded Satoru Iwata in as a Great Artist. Not a major mod, but I still think it's worth a mention.

Modding for Civ V is fantastic. All the RED model mods as well as the WW2 ones are great. World 1900 too.

Took literally days but I managed to download Civ on Tuesday and it's been worth the excruciatingly long wait. I've only managed to play a couple of games so far and so haven't even won in all the victory types yet but I'm having tons of fun still~

Play as Egypt with that Tradition policy and that wonder building pantheon.

Manually control citizens after setting the city to production focus.

Also cut down any spare forests for them production boosts if needed.
