I played 1 and 2 on PS3 but stopped both when I got towards the end and it was too hard.

Only played the 3DS one and thought it was pretty eton mess, gameplay-wise. Story was interesting, if completely confusing (which I totally expected) and I enjoyed the novelty of visiting all the different Disney worlds. Can't say it made me want to try the other games though.

Only really played through the first game and the camera controls were very awkward to get used to, but the game slowly grew on me and after a few quite easy boss battles towards the beginning of the game they really turn up the difficulty in those fights in the latter part of the game. It also did enough to get me invested in the story after a while following a rather confusing opening and I really enjoyed the game in the end.
Ansem's second phase fight though was really hard, took me forever to beat it

I've only ever played the opening of the first game, so I was left baffled by the mixture of FFX and Disney characters, and I think I chose the shield instead of the keyblade. A choice I've never understood.

the choice was to decide which type of ablities you get prefrence for, you get the keyblade no matter what

Only played the DS and 3DS games in the series and I quite like the games, yeah the story is hard to follow but I like the combat especially the free flow combat in DDD, plus you also get to hang about with Disney characters so thats always a plus.

I wonder whether we'll get another side game before KH3 release?

I've never played a Kingdom Hearts game, I have Dream Drop Distance ready and waiting. Probably should at least load it up the once to see what it's like.

I picked the sword, having no idea that it would deprive me of one of the most useful abilities in the game until Level 70 or something. Ended the game just over Level 60 and beat it after making the mistake of using the Divine Rose because of it's overall power while neglecting the fact it has an extremely short reach. Did the sensible thing in the end and went to Hollow Bastion to get a keyblade that I missed (not Ultima Weapon, didn't do all the side questing stuff for that)

I haven't attempted any of the extra bosses yet and I'm not sure if I will.

And yeah, Deep Jungle is frustratingly complex world to navigate and so easy to get lost in. You can go round in circles without making any progress whatsoever, I think I had to use a guide to help me out there.

it is an objective fact picking the rod gives you the best stats, if you pick anything else you're deliberately handicapping yourself

I recently bought KH2. After going through that ultimately pointless introduction with Roxas and seeing the wizard Yen Sid, you'd think the first world the Gummyship brings me to would be a Disney one but no, it's a Final Fantasy one full of Moogles. This is not what I signed up for..
