You never know, with all these stretch goals they keep smashing (apparently even more are expected to go up later) I wouldn't be too surprised to see physical copy releases on the cards eventually (on current-gen consoles of course).

It is a shame about the N64 thing, but when you think about it it could never run a 64GB cart, not to mention Platonic would have to essentially remake the entire game from the ground up just for the system (as I doubt down-porting a game by 3-4 console generations is really an option lol!). And it would be for a limited 250 people and probably without the authority and rights of Nintendo's say so (despite the systems life's end well over 10 years ago).

Added a link on the first post to the kickstarter which also shows some footage and has some sexy ass music. What I was wondering though, is that the rewards you can get from donating, looking at the first 3:

£5 - mention in the credits
£10 - PC copy on launch + 'previous rewards'
£15 - console copy on launch

Does the 3rd one also include a mention in the credits? Did they just forget to add '+ previous rewards' or what? I don't see why it wouldn't include mention in the credits too, so, Idk...

They didn't include that "+previous rewards" as that suggests you get a code for Steam as well as for a console of your choice.

I suspect every tier includes a mention in the credits, even if that does mean there'll be 30,000+ names to scroll through.

Latest new stretch goal (£1,500,000) is to get an orchestral score.
PM me if you decide to add me on 3DS or Wii U

If you look just below the details of the donation tiers in the big central block of info there's a table showing exactly what is included at each level. Name in the credits is on for every donation tier.

I've backed the project (enough to get a signed deluxe copy). Happy to see it's going so well. I have fond memories of RARE's glory days and they've got some outstanding composers on board.

Then next generation Microsoft will buy the rights to it and release Yooka-Laylee: Washers & Screws....and ruin the franchise forever :D

I'm really excited about this, not just because we are basically get Banjo-Kazooie 3 but because the fan interest is so high, that there is still an audience that is willing to play a mascot platformer that isn't Mario. The kind of platformers from the N64 era are my faves and they don't really seem to make them anymore (the closest we've had is Epic Mickey) so this might be a revival.

The game itself looks great - the worlds are really imaginative, the characers look a bit eton mess though (I wish they could have just used Banjp-Kazooie - I know they can't, no one uses Microsofts stagnant, never going to be used again IPs and gets away with it). I hope this game isn't just a reskin of an old game without the original magic-what made B-K so special was how original they were so this game has a lot to live up to BUT PLEASE DON'T INCLUDE AN END OF GAME QUIZ LIKE IN BANJO BEFORE THE FINAL BOSS, THEY ARE TERRIBLE AND NO ONE WANTS IT.

tl:dr I really excited for this game.

People who say "gooseberry fool PUBLISHERS PEOPLE ALL WANTED THIS" don't seem to realise under 100k people registering interest is piss poor. As much as I love the people behind this and as much as I'm going to break down and cry when I play this, facts are facts. This is niche.

I really am excited about this game, I hope its more like Kazooie than Tooie though, Tooie was just so big and you spent ages walking about and there were way too many collectable's. They had a bit of a habit of making their worlds a bit too vast. The smaller and more tight worlds of BK worked much better.

Rare are great but unlike a lot of game developers I get the feeling that complete creative freedom isn't their friend and they definitely need some good editting and someone to restrict them a bit. Tooie seemed to be the product of their worst impulses because they completely allowed to do what they wanted off the back of previous successes (they are basically the Ricky Gervais of video gaming, you get The Office when he works with Stephen Merchant but when he's given complete trust to do what he wants on his own you get f***ing Derek!).

Only 5 days left now, guys! With what they've got on paypal, I'd say they're about £100,000 away from the £2 million stretch goal for free DLC. Would be nice if it reaches that point :).

It may be very touch and go as to whether it'll reach the 2 million mark, I really hope it does, free DLC would be a nice bonus :) Hopefully it'll have a slight surge of donations as it's nearing the end of the backing stage like Bloodstained seems to have done.

Ok so Yooka-Laylee has reached £2 million on Kickstarter, before taking into account any pledges via paypal.

Edit, here's some gameplay from E3 of an alpha build of the game.

Gave em £15 today cause I completely forgot. Still taking people's money on Paypal on their site if you haven't already.

If this becomes popular like Banjo-Kazooie, I'm hoping they'll make Tooka-Laylee and Yooka-Laythree and manage to complete a trilogy.

Woohoo! I've been wanting another free-roaming platformer in the vein of SM64, and I'm very much looking forward to getting this in my Wii U. :)

I hate this smiley face. Looks like a real smug git.

Pretty excited to play this game, the developers look like they have some really nice ideas too.
