I've just seen my email as well, I however will be opting for the Switch version. I'll be getting a Switch at some point in 2017 and as the Switch version has no release date as of now I guess they could always allow people to pay to upgrade to a physical version as well if they release one. I'm hoping a similar situation will happen with Bloodstained as well really.

Got my updated survey the other night and switched to the Switch version. Supporting Nintendo and all that but that doesn't mean to say I won't buy it on another format at some point especially if I enjoy it that much and it has a good price.

I so, so want this game to be great. In fact I'm possibly slightly more hyped for this game than I am for Zelda BotW.....But;

I'm not blown away by the clip. I know the whole is always greater than the sum of it's equal parts but roughly 17 and half minutes of a game like this is enough time to give you a good indication of what this game will turn out like.

Aside from the graphics, which do look very polished - it does seem to play and sound like lots of middle-of-the road platformers from the late 90s / early 2000's that were so obviously influenced by Banjo Kazooie. The level design looks good but too open and empty and not particularly creative and could do with a bit more padding out and perhaps a few more enermies. The challenges and puzzles didn't seem particularly interesting or challenging. The sounds and even the music which I was hoping they was going to nail seemed a bit bland. I loved Banjo Kazooie but wasn't that impressed with Tooie nor Donley Kong 64 - again Yooka Layee looks like it is indulging Rare's worst impulses with all the collecting of loads of different items and trophies (Banjo-Kazooie got the balance of collecting items so it felt rewarding but not boring busy work just about right imo).

All of the promo's that were made up of lot's of short clips looked great, but this quite large chunk of constant gameplay that they chose to showcase their game didn't fill me with confidence. I know that all reads very negatively, but I am still excited for this game but just a little nervous it isn't going to be as great as I hoped.

If anything my only complaint about that is the level seems too big, meaning the content is spread out further making it look a little empty. Hopefully not all the levels are that large or there's more content in other levels.

BK is my favourite game, and that clip just leaves me cold. I dropped a lot of money into the KS, so I'm still happy it's happening, but maybe I was wrong to expect something amazing.

I'm still happy it's getting made though.

Seems to be reviewing reasonably well, plenty of 6/7's from what I've seen with a few either side as well. Xbox One performance seems to be one of the issues some people are having when reviewing it, sounds like the Casino themed level is the worst as well from the couple of reviews I've watched.

Well I opted to switch to the Switch version, guess whenever it gets a release date I best look into buying a Switch (unless its much later in the year, chances are I'll have bought one by then) or I won't have anything to play it on.

Don't know how the PS4 version handles as all the reviewers seem to have only played the PC/Xbone version.

The reviews are a bit disappointing but not whole surprising, I think it's like the Parappa the Rapper remaster it's a fond trip down memory lane. It's for the fans and that's it really.

I heard Jim Sterling gave it a 2/10, dam.

Probably is partly down to the nostalgia factor in parts, I loved Banjo Kazooie (keep meaning to play Banjo Tooie on Rare Replay) so I kind of don't mind the fact it may not be a superb game by modern standard's, still looks a lot of fun to me.

2/10 does seem overly harsh though.

Edit, just read Jim Sterlings review, seems pretty harsh in my opinion basically criticising all the parts taken from Banjo Kazooie/Tooie. Don't doubt that it has some issues but it was meant to be a game made in the style of Banjo Kazooie/Tooie so I don't understand some of his comments. I understand why he's complaining about the camera if it is that bad as that's something you expect to work in a modern game despite its roots.

I forgot to change mine to the Switch version. So if anyone wants to buy the PC version from me at a cheaper price hit me up.

Hopefully it won't be that much longer till we at least get some news about the Switch version, I'm still hoping we'll see a physical version as it just feels right. They could even rotate the box art 90 degrees to give it an even stronger N64 vibe.

My PS4 version arrived today after being dispatched Friday.

Played up to getting the first Pagie, and it's definitely Banjo 3.0, which is a bloody good thing.

My housemate has this, I've watched some of it being played. It looks good.

It also looks completely like Banjo 3 to a level I didn't think possible.
