"Terrible Old Games You've Probably Never Heard Of".

Post by TrubbishForMayor » Wed Jan 06, 2016 10:21 pm

Has anybody else read this book? It's written by Stuart Ashen, who is just about the only person on youtube that I can stand at the moment. I found it to be genuinely funny and I'm just wondering what other peoples takes are.

Hadn't heard of it before. Seems like an odd trend that so many youtubers are releasing books now, as I've noticed others in displays in Waterstones.

I am a big fan of Ashens, so I wouldn't mind checking his book out at some point since it does seem fun. I'll just have to wait until I have some cash to spare lol.

His Terrible Old Games You've Probably Never Heard Of videos are brilliant so I imagine that the book will be equally cool. A lot of these You Tube based books seem rushed to market but I know Ashens has talked about wanting to do a book for a very long time.

I bought this book a couple of weeks ago and I'm reading it on and off, it pretty good actually. Some of the stuff that passed for games back in the day is laughable at best and makes you wonder just how they kept getting away with it and why people still bought them.

I brought the one he did a video review of something on the lines of the worst 5 games ever or something back when it came out, basically because it was £1.99 and curiosity took the better of me lol

I saw this in Waterstones yesterday, as it happens. Didn't know it was by a YouTuber. I didn't flick through much of it, but it seemed like a good read. I certainly hadn't heard of any of the games I saw, anyway.

Was that the 'Don't Buy This' compilation? My brother had that, and apparently, it was a huge seller at the time.
