Latest Retro Purchases

Post by kerr9000 » Fri Oct 24, 2014 6:30 pm

Just what it says in the subject line. A chance to say what you have recently purchased retro wise

Fifa International Soccer for Gameboy complete 1quid
Madden 96 for gameboy complete 1 quid

Who wants to be a millionaire gba complete but rough box 50pence

Then I got the following 3 gba carts as a bundle for 3quid, Super Mario Advance 4, Ghost Rider and a pirate version of Harry Potter and the sorcerers stone .... for the cash and Mario advance 4 being one of them I was going to worry about the pirate even though its a obvious one lol

A legitimate 3-in-1 cartridge for the original Nintendo Entertainment System. Contains Super Mario Bros., Tetris and Nintendo World Cup.

The latter has slowly become one of my favourite games to play as of late. Considering that it's made by the same guys that did River City Ransom, basically imagine what it'd be like if a group of international football hooligans got together to have a kick-about tournament of their own.

Tackling, playing dirty and basically crippling the opposing team is not just a legit tactic, it's outright mandatory.

It is a pretty cool game... I remember a football game on the spectrum I was rather fond of I used to call it Fighting football but not sure if that's its real name, but basically you could legally run up to people and head-butt them, I used to think that was so cool back then lol

Got myself Fire Emblem (GBA) on the Wii U a couple of days ago. It was my first Fire Emblem game and one I really loved. So yeah, I'm enjoying it again - right after I decided not to worry about losing characters.

The most recent retro game I bought was probably Fire Emblem for GBA. Not had a chance to play it yet though.

Maybe... hopefully more people get involved though.

I picked up another copy of Grand theft auto liberty city stories for 50pence today the disc and box no manual, already have it but good price and all. Sometimes I wish I had friends with the same machines as me to swap spares with etc...posting and such makes it not worth it though.

I don't buy many retro games anymore but I never say never. If/when I do I'll be sure to mention them.

Like apparently everyone here, the most recent retro game I bought was Fire Emblem GBA via WiiU, completed it, and thought it was brilliant. Been more occupied with recent releases, and have cleared out a few bits from my collection that were just taking up space.

I guess otherwise the oldest game I played was Spec Ops The Line, which is hardly retro.
Are we all Super now?

Some good stuff there was it expensive at the expo for stuff?

Last place I went to it was crazy money the funny thing being there was a retro shop around the corner where most of the stuff was half the price.

Ghost Busters is a brilliant game I absolutely love it.

some things were pricey but for the most part they were fair and cheap. ghostbusters was £20 but for a complete copy of it, a good price. also one stall was doing a 2 for 3 deal on everything on the table which was nice.

Yeah thats a more than fair price for Ghost Busters ...

I used to have a Japanese copy of it growing up but lost it when someone stole some games from me

I have a pirate cart of it... works plays the fully game the only things that give it away are a rubbish label and the fact the sega logo is all fuzzed out when you start it up... cant work out why youd want to replicate it perfectly and fuzz out the one logo.

Brought myself some Master system games today 3 for 10quid. All boxed and complete.

Basketball nightmare
Sagaia
WolfChild

Wanted the last two for a while so happy to get them.

Also spent 2 quid and got a complete copy of Lone Soldier for the PS1

Loved this when it first came out, surprised I didn't already manage to get it ages ago really.

Donkey Kong Country (Wii U VC). Ecstatic it's finally back digitally on Nintendo platforms. I never did get the chance to finish off this classic, and I'm having a fun time showing my boyfriend who's the leader of the bunch on 2-player. Now I just want the N64 VC to arrive. Hoping for Donkey Kong 64 next - it's becoming too much of a pain to dig out the N64, cartridge, Expansion Pak and what have you when I want a quick go at mowing down some beavers in Rambi Arena

Not a game or even a console, but I did just get a special screwdriver for opening up Nintendo carts today, as well as some batteries lol. Successfully replaced the battery in my old Pokemon Gold cart so I can save again! Just waiting on another type of battery to replace the one in my Super Mario Land 2 cart now!
