Since I mostly play Nintendo games, surprise surprise, this list won't be in line with most others. Also, a load of my personal picks would be from 2014 which I got this year, so...yeah. :(

Game of the year:
Wii U GOTY: Xenoblade Chronicles X. I got it on 5th December, and have already clocked in at 33 hours!

3DS GOTY: Monster Hunter Hunter 4 Ultimate. After that though, 3DS had a pretty year.

PC GOTY: Her Story. Makes perfect sense on a PC, and it certainly helps that the story and acting is brilliant!

VITA GOTY: OlliOlli2. It just works so well on the console! Would have been Freedom Wars, which dominated
thefirst half of 2015, but it had the cheek to come out in 2014!

Most disappointing GOTY: Devil's Third. Sad to see this suffer, but it's understandable as to why it did. Would have maybe got it if I didn't hear people talking about bow barren the multiplayer lobbies are.

Worst GOTY: Animal Crossing: Amiibo Festival. Simply the most un-Nintendo thing that Nintendo could have done to charge £50 for the ability to buy more Amiibo.

Best dev: Telltale Games have really shown their capabilities this year.

Best publisher: Telltale Games have really shown...wait a sec.

Multiplayer GOTY:Splatoon is the only game which lets me play with other squids across the globe.

Best story: Her Story was a real blast in terms of story.

Most wanted 2016: Fire Emblem: Fates should be an even better follow up to my favourite game of all time, especially thanks to online PvP.

Best new IP/original GOTY: Splatoon. Shows what Nintendo is truly capable of.

Best gaming platform: Well, PC is PC and that will never change, so...

Underrated GOTY: Read Only Memories is a game which came out recently that you all stupidly haven't played.

Best visual design: Xenoblade X comes close, but Hotline Miami 2's shower of visual flair scrapes it.

Best soundtrack: Hotline Miami 2 is like if Daft Punk had a hostile takeover and started composing for slasher flick about stoned murderers. Just as stylish as it sounds!

Iwata award: most fun GOTY: Got to be Splatoon, by far! Man, every match is a real blast.
The King is dead. Long live the Geeng(y)!

Game of the year:
Wii U GOTY: Splatoon is especially innovative and fresh, while it's platform defining multiplayer still has me invested.

3DS GOTY: I didn't buy any 3DS games released this year, but I'm happy to suggest Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer

PS4 GOTY: Batman Arkham Knight - my first game after recently purchasing the system.

XBONE GOTY: N/A

PC GOTY: N/A

VITA GOTY: What games?

Most disappointing GOTY: Thankfully there were no real disappointments in my book.

Worst GOTY: Fallout 4

Best dev: I may not be Metal Gear fan but Kojima Productions' efforts seem very admirable.

Best publisher: Sony Computer Entertainment

Multiplayer GOTY: Splatoon

Best story: As the concluding chapter in the saga, I expected all loose ends to be tied up from Arkham City and some unexpected twists; Batman: Arkham Knight hasn't disappointed on any of those fronts so far.

Most wanted 2016: Uncharted 4: A Thief's End. If 'Zelda U' wasn't such a mystery, maybe it'd be in a position to compete here.

Best new IP/original GOTY: Splatoon

Best gaming platform: PS4

Underrated GOTY: Devil's Third perhaps? I got the impression that it's multiplayer shone through.

Best visual design: Splatoon

Best soundtrack: Splatoon (again)

Iwata award: most fun GOTY: Super Mario Maker. Iv'e had more fun creating and seeing how others react to my own levels than I initially thought. The wider community's creativity isn't bad either.

Game of the year: Fallout 4
Wii U GOTY: Splatoon
3DS GOTY: Monster Hunter 4 ultimate
PS4 GOTY: Uncharted: Nathen Drake collection
PC GOTY: Fallout 4
Most disappointing GOTY: Starwars Battlefront.
Worst GOTY: Animal Crossing Amiibo festival (worst that I've actually played that is, otherwise it would be some crappy Steam greenlight game)
Best dev: Bethesda
Best publisher: Bethesda
Multiplayer GOTY: Splatoon
Best story: The Witcher 3 (was neck and neck with Fallout and Just Cause 3 for my GOTY, but in terms of story, the Witcher wins hands down)
Most wanted 2016: I have to choose? Uncharted 4 right now I guess...
Best new IP/original GOTY: Splatoon
Best gaming platform: PC
Underrated GOTY: Just Cause 3 (would that count as underrated?)
Best visual design: Xenoblade Chronicles X
Best soundtrack: Xenoblade Chronicles X
Iwata award: most fun GOTY: Mario Maker

Undertale and Splatoon were just my favourites by a country mile. I haven't played Xenoblade Chronicles X yet.

I spent most of this gaming year discovering old games - so my list is somewhat limited.
Game of the year: Xenoblade Chonicles 3D (Yet to play X)
Wii U GOTY: Super Mario Maker
3DS GOTY: Xenoblade Chronicles 3D
Multiplayer GOTY: Splatoon
Best story: Xenoblade Chronicles 3D
Most wanted 2016: Zelda U
Best new IP/original GOTY: Splatoon
Best gaming platform: Wii U
Best visual design: Splatoon (dat Ink tho)
Best soundtrack: Xenoblade Chronicles 3D
Iwata award: most fun GOTY: Super Mario Maker
Ever since joining the original ONM I've been a huge Nintendo fan (specifically Zelda) and am looking forward to some great discussions. I was previously known as Lego Master

Game of the year: Splatoon
Wii U GOTY: Splatoon
PC GOTY: Undertale
Best dev: Nintendo
Best publisher: Nintendo
Multiplayer GOTY: Splatoon/J-Stars Victory VS+
Best story: Undertale
Most wanted 2016: Yooka Laylee
Best new IP/original GOTY: Undertale
Best gaming platform: Wii U
Underrated GOTY: J-Stars Victory VS+
Best visual design: Super Mario Maker
Best soundtrack: Splatoon/Undertale
Iwata award: most fun GOTY: Splatoon/J-Stars Victory VS+

Splatoon was my game of the year, but it shares some awards with Undertale and J-Stars as I feel I had an equal amount of fun with each them. I still play J-Stars constantly, as it was the breaking point that made me want a PS3.

Well I thought I best get my votes in before it shuts tomorrow.

Game of the year: Xenoblade Chronicles X
Wii U GOTY: Xenoblade Chronicles X
3DS GOTY: Xenoblade Chronicles 3DS
PS4 GOTY: Metal Gear Solid V The Phantom Pain
XBONE GOTY: N/A
PC GOTY: N/A
VITA GOTY: N/A
Most disappointing GOTY: Metal Gear Solid V The Phantom Pain
Worst GOTY: Animal Crossing Amiibo Festival, wasn't the Animal Crossing game we wanted for Wii U!
Best dev: Nintendo
Best publisher: Nintendo
Multiplayer GOTY: Splatoon (doesn't help this is probably the only multiplayer game I've played, not a lot though)
Best story: Xenoblade Chronicles 3DS
Most wanted 2016: The Legend of Zelda Wii U
Best new IP/original GOTY: Splatoon
Best gaming platform: Wii U
Underrated GOTY: Captain Toad Treasure Tracker, no idea if this is classed as underrated though, I loved it though
Best visual design: Xenoblade Chronicles X
Best soundtrack: Metal Gear Solid V The Phantom Pain
Iwata award: most fun GOTY: Super Mario Maker

There we go, not sure if Captain Toad counts as I know a lot of places sold it before it's release date of the 2nd of January 2015 but that was its official release in the UK as far as I'm aware. If Captain Toad doesn't count then replace it with Yoshis Woolly World for underrated GOTY please.

3DS GOTY: Xenoblade Chronicles 3D
PS4 GOTY: Bloodborne

Multiplayer GOTY: Rock Band 4 (Despite the initial lack of content its still fantastic in multiplayer, and patches are gradually making it better)
Best story: Undertale

Best gaming platform: PS4
Underrated GOTY: Undertale (arguable that its underrated I guess)

Saw this too late but if Mario Maker doesn't get an award I'm gonna flip some eton mess. Finally managed to get my hands on that game lately and it's quite fun to be honest.
