What did you get?

Post by D.J » Thu Dec 25, 2014 8:42 am

I received the two books i asked for (F1 and D Day hardbacks), plus some chocs, Dr Who Season 8 DVD set, some nice new Paperchase stationary, and £90.

I shall split the money, so some will go into my savings jar, whilst the rest will be used to buy some Blu Rays.

I got a pair of Beats headphones and they're really swell. I also got two books, Smash Bros. for Wii U, Kingdom Hearts II.5 HD Remix, £30 and a couple of iTunes vouchers.~~

Not much: some new clothes, a bunch of sweets & chocolate, and (for some reason) a dynamo-powered LED lantern.

EDIT: Upon further inspection, it wasn't a lantern but instead two bottles of Pear Kopparberg.

Not even opened anything yet! I know I've got the F1 2014 season review book (almost become a automatic present for me now!), Super Smash Bros Wii U, Sleepy Hollow (the series that was on a while back, enjoyed the first few episodes but then the sky box decided to mess up recording them so I missed the second half of the series) and a Samus Amiibo. Also I'm pretty sure there is a toblerone under the tree with my name on, I'm like 99% sure it's a toblerone just hope it's my preferred toblerone, I love toblerone so it better be a toblerone after I'm now looking forward to eating a toblerone later.

Other than that I've got a few more gifts under the tree, not sure what though.

I got a camera kit from my Brother. Would have been a surprise, had I not had to order it and wrap it myself

My Dad sent my Brother a card and £20 to give to me. That'll feed me next week as I'm not expecting any wages until Jan 9th.

Because my Mum is too lazy to get a job.. I mean too sick, because laziness is a sickness apparently, she's very kindly decided to give me 2 weeks of rent free living. In other words she's saving me £100 I couldn't give her anyway, because I am not getting any wages this week or next week. It's actually a pretty good gift. But it would have been much better to let me off the rent before Christmas, so I could buy something FOR Christmas. She can do that next year though I suppose. She has no plans to work for the rest of her life. Back on topic..

My Mum's Boyfriend didn't plan to give anyone anything this year. But when he opened up the present that me and my Mum (AKA my wages and money I normally pay rent with) got him, he decided to 'Get me something come the end of January' I will believe that when I see it :P

My long distance girlfriend planned to send me something back in September. But somehow only managed to send that something about 5 days ago. She apparently has 3 different parcels to send me. But she has had trouble sending them for months.. Apparently.

An ex-girlfriend of mine actually did give me something. A nice bottle of aftershave. CK Be. Smells nice. Actually something I was hoping to get for Christmas.

That's about it really. It looks like I will get about half of my Christmas presents after Christmas, as usual. That'll make this Christmas one to forget. It's not what I get that makes Christmas any good for me. It's when I get whatever is given to me. Lets be honest. What makes Christmas Day exciting in particular, is knowing you're getting some cool new stuff. Christmas Day isn't exciting when you're getting stuff a month later x)

I can't complain though as a very nice drone I ordered on Ebay and was expecting next week, came yesterday! Another is on the way next week too. They'll be sure to brighten up this Christmas and New Years :D

money
a nice scarf
a small selection of locally brewed beers that I won't be able to take back with me to the UK so I guess I'm drinking a lot of beer this week
A little Bluetooth Bose speaker that is really a joint present for me and my dad but it'll inevitably just be mine probably

While I do miss getting /things/ for christmas, honestly I just wanted money and this is more than I expected to get back. So I'm pretty grateful.

-Money
-Persona Q
-NSMBU
-SM3DW
-Hyrule Warriors
-Tetris cookie cutters
-Some nice shoes that are too small
-Coffee Vodka
-John Cleese's autobiography
-Oversized jingly elf slippers
-A 'Merry Christmas, ya filthy animal' jumper

Particularly chuffed with John Cleese's book, which was a complete surprise. I still have a few to open at my girlfriend's, too. Pretty sure one of them is Seconds by Mr. O'Malley, too! Failing that, it might be Lost at Sea, which would be equally as good!

Perhaps that was poorly worded...

It's a paper mask of a panda's face, with a little tube and plunger attached to it that moves the mouth so it looks like it's talking.

That isn't actually any less creepy, but at least it doesn't sound as much like a weird fetish.
