Super ONM's E3 2015 Game of the Show

Image
With E3 all wrapped up (mostly), and all the big conferences and game reveals done and dusted, it's time for us all to decide on our favourite game of the show! Vote here for your top five (and feel free to give plenty of reasons why), and we'll total up the votes to determine Super ONM's E3 Game of the Show in 2015.

Anything shown at E3 qualifies, not just games that appeared in the conferences. If it was in a conference, featured on the show floor, or appeared on Nintendo's Treehouse - it all counts! So get voting.

Votes will be totalled up on Friday 26th, so feel free to edit your choices up until then.

Code: Select all

(5 points)

(4 points)

(3 points)

(2 points)

(1 point)
Here are my own personal choices
 1. The Last Guardian (5 points)
 2. Fallout 4 (4 points)
 3. Super Mario Maker (3 points)
 4. Horizon: Zero Dawn (2 points)
 5. Just Cause 3 (1 point)
There is no way I couldn't give the top spot to final appearance of The Last Guardian, and Fallout 4 looks like everything I could want. Super Mario Maker needs recognition for how much it has become something I want thanks to the Nintendo World Championships and elsewhere where they have shown it off. Horizon was a complete new reveal that looks super fun and right up my street (post-apocalyptic, sci-fi, robot dinosaurs, badass female lead) and is now right up on my radar. Finally Just Cause 3 gets a place because it looks to have improved on Just Cause 2 in every way, which basically means it will be brilliant.

Super honourable mentions to Cuphead simply for that art style alone and Unravel for a surprise game that just looks like it has a real creative vision behind it. There are other games that I want more than the above but had less prominence at E3, at least from the conferences, or lacked as much excitement because I already know all about them (like MGSV). But I may well change my mind!

There's other games I liked the look of but didn't see gameplay for, only went on things I actually saw gameplay of so wasn't just judging pre-rendered cutscenes...

 3. Super Mario Maker (3 points)
 4. Kingdom Hearts III (2 points)
 5. No Mans Sky(1 point)
Still emotionally attached to TLG so to see it again was such a great moment for me. Especially since the original vision is still concrete.
Horizon seriously blew me away. It's the futuristic Monster Hunter type game I've always dreamed of.
Watching Super Mario Maker during the NWC just amplified my hype 10 fold and now I'm beyond thirsty to get my hands all over that game.
I'm a Kingdom Hearts Fanboy so any new trailer just gets be absurdly excited.
No Mans Sky continues to look mind blowing in it's scope and ambition.

 5. No Man's Sky (1 point)
No Man's Sky is basically on my list because it's either going to be fantastic or completely tragic. There's no inbetween when you talk about your game with the pomposity Hello Games' Sean Murray has been using. There's a load of other stuff I'll no doubt be picking up over the course of the next 12 months, but those are the five releases I'm looking forward to most.

Planet Coaster probably doesn't deserve that many points but I literally don't care- I'm pretty hyped for it and maybe that's the point.

In first and with five points I'm going for Star Wars Battlefront. It's been forever since the last proper Battlefront, and this game is looking like a great evolution of the original two.

Second and four points, it's definitely got to be Kingdom Hearts 3. Kingdom Hearts 2 is a part of my top ten games, and I love the series for how it crosses over with Disney properties while still remaining its own game.

Third and three points, Planet Coaster. I might have missed it live, but when I heard they had finally announced its proper name and given it a trailer, I couldn't help but feel happy knowing that Frontier finally have their new game in the open.

Fourth and two points, I'm placing this as Mirror's Edge: Catalyst. Just like Battlefront, DICE seem to have evolved this beyond what it originally was. And if the open world and no loading screens are true, it's going to be a great game to play.

Last, and with one point would be Star Fox. Finally seeing true gameplay really got me interested in playing it. I broke out 64 3D again after so long, and enjoyed playing that, so this is something I am looking forward to.
