What's your favourite Christmas food?
One of my favourite things about Christmas is the food. I'd have it year-round if I could, to be honest.
Do you like Christmas Puddings? Turkey? Yule Logs? Something else?
Personally I adore Mince Pies, especially the crazy expensive Heston Blumenthal ones from Waitrose.
But what about YOU?

I like the foil coins. Peel off the skin to eat and throw away the poison.

Dude have you even seen these ones?Robbo-92 wrote:Sainsburys taste the difference mince pies with Sainsburys extra thick brandy cream. Heaven in a bowl

They're far better when you can put them in the oven, and you can sprinkle the Tangerine sugar on them when they come out as well. It genuinely has all the flavours of Christmas. Checkmate.
Yes I know I'm incredibly middle-class, sorry
Thank you.

They actually look really nice. Do they feel as good going out as they do going in?

Christmas cake. Specifically, my Mum's Christmas cake. It's astounding, and has been consistently so for many years.

When the hotwheels and the gameboy games no longer fill the void it's the only bit looking forward to tbh.

Oh god warm mince pies with brandy butter
One food that I really like that people rarely seem to mention is stollen. It's so bad for you, even by christmas food standards, but my god is it wonderful
Gonna get one of these as well

I will be getting loads of things sent over from Bavaria, my partner hates it and calls it all "German eton mess" but tends to eat it all anyway!!

Re: What's your favourite Christmas food?
extra thick brandy cream for mince pies, christmas pudding, shreddies, honey nut cornflakes etc etc
pigs in blankets
maple glazed par boiled then roasted parsnips
rosemary, salted, par boiled then roasted potatoes in some sort of poultry fat shaken about for extra crispiness
twiglet tubs as pieces are half sized
my mrs insanely deep mince pies due to use of two or three types of alcohol within the mixture
turkey sandwiches where I forget how thick to cut superbly crusty white and end up with two "doorstops"
branston pickle .. not at any other time of the year am I so fond
nuts, hand cracked for family competitions, who can do walnuts without using the cracker, who can actually get to 4 almonds without giving up, hazelnut race etc
Im totally sure there's more.. I'll repost if I can think of enough.
Edit: I'm pretty sure we glaze the parsnips during the roasting process, not before

That's not a Christmas food, that's regular Sunday roast food. Now cranberry stuffing on the other hand...Marmitecashews wrote:Sage and onion stuffing.

Christmas is the one time I don't mind eating meat. Those turkey sandwiches are delicious. I promised my friend I'd join her in becoming a vegan but I've sspecifically said it would be my New Years Resolution, so that I can have one last chance to enjoy a proper Christmas dinner :')
