Yeah, as much as I'm looking forward to Splatoon 2 and think ARMS could be interesting, I hope the Direct isn't completely about those two. Or maybe I'm just really hungry for Switch news.

Yeah I don't mind the focus being on Splatoon 2 and ARMS but I'd be pretty disappointed if that was all we got, have they given a running time for it yet?

The Nintendo store email I've received describes it as "Nintendo Direct for information about Nintendo Switch and Nintendo 3DS games, including focus on ARMS and Splatoon 2.", so it doesn't actually sound like it's just those two.

The fact Nintendo 3DS is mentioned clearly indicates that they'll spend at least 5 minutes on titles like Pikmin, Ever Oasis(?) and Fire Emblem Echoes. Whether the specific mention of Switch in general pertains to just Splatoon and ARMS is where I'm uncertain.

My favourite bit was when the ARMS commentator said "and she's got him cornered" in a circular arena. He followed this with "and they're truly pummelling each other now" as they continued to miss attacks for roughly 30 seconds.

Nothing majorly exciting. Arms looks great though, as does the new Splatoon 2 mode. Also nice to get some release dates.
Ever since joining the original ONM I've been a huge Nintendo fan (specifically Zelda) and am looking forward to some great discussions. I was previously known as Lego Master

The new format seems a bit more formal, what with it presented almost as a news program. It's good they styled it after their new theming of the Switch.
As for games, we got a bit more of everything, including a bit more Sonic Forces gameplay. ARMS and Splatoon 2 roughly a month apart is certainly an interesting move though.

Splatoon is coming much sooner than I thought it would and this new horde-type mode looks like it'll be a lot of fun.

Still on the fence in regards to Ever Oasis, though I am glad we got to know some more, plus I'm taken back by the continued 3DS support in general.

I got everything I expected plus Cloud amiibo so I'm pretty content. Gotta remember the real show is being saved for E3.

Meh it was ok, nothing amazing but we got a good look at a few games. Splatoon 2 looks good but I have to say ARMS just isn't for me in the slightest. New Zelda Amiibo are a must for me though.

Not a lot appealed to me in general, guess the next direct will be E3, have they said if they're doing a live show or just a direct yet?

Splatoon 2 release date hurray

Also I am hopeful that I can buy an extra dock for the switch as it would be of great use to me.

Haven't watched it yet, but from the sound of it it's an ok one. I also heard Payday 2 was announced for Switch, which is welcome but a bit strange

Right well I've finally ordered my Switch (this Direct didn't have much effect on my decision to do this now), so I can finally join the rest of you enjoying Breath of the Wild and I can look forward to the upcoming games for it :D

Just finished watching the Direct, I need those Bayonetta amiibo! Didn't expect Payday 2 to be announced for it either, that was quite the surprise. Also its a shame Shibata wasn't presenting it. I was missing him throughout it.

I keep on getting tempted by ordering a Switch once I've completed Breath of The Wild on Wii U, which judging by current progress will be a while yet  thing is past Zelda there isn't currently anything that screams "buy me!", there's a few indie games that look good, might take the plunge in July for when Splatoon 2 comes out as that does look very good from the direct, or sooner if Yooka Laylee comes out before that but I think that's very unlikely.
