Was hoping for some news on Xenoblade 2 since I've got the xeno-fever at the minute, along with Mario Odyssey and the like I'd guess XC2 will be one of the next big killer apps now that the Zelda hype train is losing some speed. Still, it was an okay showing, Arms looks pretty fun and that survival mode in Splatoon 2 is hella tempting, never got the first because of all the other stuff I had in my backlog (and the fact that last year online play pretty much wasn't a thing for me between restricted halls wifi and tiny data allowance at home) but the sequel's definitely caught my eye.

Hopefully we'll get loads of Xenoblade Chronicles 2 and Mario Odyssey news at E3, fingers crossed for Pokémon Stars as well.

I want Animal Crossing Switch and a WarioWare game. Surely all the features in the joy cons are crying out for one.
PM me if you decide to add me on 3DS or Wii U

Definitely Animal Crossing as well, although considering the games already coming out this year I the that'd make a good summer 2018 game. A new Metroid would be nice but I'm really not holding out hope for a new a Metroid game anytime soon,

2 games that will end my life once they come to the Switch: Animal Crossing and Monster Hunter. Funnily enough, 2 games I couldn't get into as much on 3DS. I still put mad hours into AC, but I didn't play it as long as I thought I would. Shamefully, I barely touched MH4 and didn't pick up Generations as I just felt too burnt out after 3U. But It's been so long since I properly played an MH game that my thirst is building back up. So by the time we get MH on Switch I will be fiending.
I am the reason, the answer and the problem.

I'd forgotten all about the Animal Crossing mobile app, wasn't it meant to have launched by the end of March?

I'm hoping for an XXHD reveal, but it's probably more likely that MH5 will be the first to make it to Switch so we might be in for a longer wait.

I keep on getting tempted by ordering a Switch once I've completed Breath of The Wild on Wii U, which judging by current progress will be a while yet  thing is past Zelda there isn't currently anything that screams "buy me!", there's a few indie games that look good, might take the plunge in July for when Splatoon 2 comes out as that does look very good from the direct, or sooner if Yooka Laylee comes out before that but I think that's very unlikely.
Yooka Laylee isn't very good. Don't buy a console with that game in mind for the love of god.

I know I've read reviews stating it doesn't live up to modern standards of gaming, and it should be sitting waiting for me on my Xbox One ready to play. However, unless you know what you are getting into upon buying it - and will know you can overlook any problems it has - I also wouldn't get a console with just that one game. You've stated Splatoon 2 and some indies as well, so July would be the time to buy.

Well I already changed by backing for Yooka Laylee to the Switch once they said them were stopping the Wii U version, I do know kind of what I'm getting into with Yooka Laylee, a game inspired by Banjo Kazooie/Tooie. Why isn't it very good Nofes? I've read the camera is clunky and the burbled noise for speaking is annoying but I think I can look past the second point of those two, will have to wait and see on the camera but from what I've seen it looks pretty good. July is looking good at the moment, definitely get one by October at the latest as after that it could be hard to come by at Christmas with the new Mario game launching in November (guessing November anyway).

I could write an entire essay on what Yooka Laylee gets wrong. There's a hell of a lot of stuff in the game that lacks polish and the abilities later in the game essentially break the thing.

Not to mention it's far more DK64 than it is Banjo, in the bad way.

More DK64 because of the rap? I wanted the rap and while I expected it to be overly cheesy it was a long couple of minutes by the end of it.

To be honest I've never played DK64 but are the parts that lack polish stuff that could be sorted in patches or are they ingrained into the game meaning any major changes will have to wait for a sequel (if it gets one afterall)?

Kind of disappointed it looks the Switch won't be getting Battlefront 2 unless they're saving it for E3, guess I shouldn't have been expecting it to be fair.

Because of the rap? What?

Why would I critique a game based on its marketing?

Was just trying to make light of the rap, didn't think much to it at all personally but I know it was pretty similar to DK64 rap, hence why I mentioned it.

Overwatch does look pretty good from what I've seen of it, even though they've been hesitant to give a definite yes or no on the matter they seem to imply it'd take a bit of work. Just out of interest can Overwatch run on the Nvidia Shield? If so I imagine a port definitely wouldn't be out of the question as they both use a Tegra X1.

So is anyone else happy Nintendo are sticking with Directs for E3 again? Treehouse has become a great alternative to covering games live imo.

Yeah I am, their E3 directs have been pretty good generally since they moved to the direct and treehouse format so I don't think they'll lose anything by not having a live stage show again.

Really hope Nintendo come out fighting, announcing new games and giving us definite launch dates for Mario Odyssey, Xenoblade Chronicles 2 and so on.

Whats everyone hoping to see anyway?

As much as I want to see Smash Switch it would be wise to not focus on ports too much. I have a feeling we're going to see a lot of them which is worrying. I'd imagine some focus will be on that Rabbids crossover game too. Side note to that, if they bring out Beyond Good and Evil 2 that would be pretty awesome. I've come to a point where I don't really to expect too much from E3. Keeping the bar realistic and low is important lol. That way you never feel disappointed >,>

I'm willing to give the Mario/Rabbids game a shot if it looks half decent, obviously it could look complete rubbish but if it looks like a well written rpg with a decent battle system then it could be good. Beyond Good and Evil is something I've never played, will have to see how the game looks (if indeed real of course). I try not to get myself to hyped up for E3 but I still do every year

Been a while since the last advance wars game hasn't it? Who knows, could happen (although the old ones being bundled on Switch is probably unlikely, maybe individually though?).

If there's no Pokemon announcement this month, E3 is where I expect it to be.
The wildest thing I would want is Kingdom Hearts 1.5 and 2.5 HD on Switch, followed by a port of KH3 so all the main series is on Nintendo platforms. Would only be fair since Nintendo have had the spin-offs [bar one].
Animal Crossing, F-Zero, Advance Wars, maybe some Mario Kart 8 Deluxe extra content if they want to run it as a platform instead of just one game.

Pokemon on the 3DS or Switch though? Or both? I'm thinking the rest of this gen of Pokemon games will continue on the 3DS as well with a slight chance of a Switch version, I'm really wishing Pokemon Stars on the Switch to be true, would definitely help the Switch to continue selling like it is.

I'm just hopeful we'll finally see Retro Studios new game, their last game was Tropical Freeze back in 2013.
