I've never played TWEWY either, so I should be excited? What makes it so great?

Just finished watching it and I thought it was a bit average.

I bought TWEWY on its original release and didn't like it so the Switch remaster means nothing to me. Payday 2 looks great and I'll probably buy that again as do the SNK fighters. I'm interested in Mario Tennis as I do like those games but I'm already very cautious since I got majorly burned my Mario tennis WiiU. Pleased Dark Souls is happening too.

Not all that fussed on Hyrule Warriors and DKC Returns either - I'm having very mixed feelings about more rehashes of WiiU games. I get they're doing it so they reach a bigger audience than the WiiU could offer but I hope it doesn't become a trend touted as a "major release". I'd rather they just announced a Virtual Console and release them on there.

Speaking of; when is that happening and when do we find out more info about this online plan, hmmm Nintendo?

EDIT
Also Kirby :D

To be fair, it can't go on to be much more of a trend, there aren't many more Wii U games worth re-releasing left.

I lost it when I saw Ys VIII was coming to Switch. I'll happily pay for it again. It's the perfect platform for this type of game. I never got round to playing Tropical Freeze so I'm hyped to finally try it. For a mini direct it was pretty solid imo. Lots of stuff for everyone.

You know what? I might just be down for Payday 2 on Switch.

Mario Odyssey DLC looks like it'll be fun for a bit and I did want a reason to go back to it anyway. Still want more kingdoms further down the line, probably at E3 if there really is more to come.

Looking forward to Mario tennis because I love tennis games but no one seems to make them anymore (I wish Sega would make another Virtua Tennis) the story mode hopefully will be good

The DLC for Mario Odyssey looks fun, its free which is even better

The other games I am not really interested in apart from maybe Donkey Kong because I didn't get it for the Wii U

Genuinely good story, incredibly stylish, top-tier pixel art, one of the best soundtracks, unique, challenging and balanced combat. Oh and a deep mini-game that could be a game all of its own in Tin Pin.

Might have to keep an eye on it then.

I'm excited to see more of Mario Tenns Aces, Hyrule Warriors Definitive Edition and Dark Souls Remastered.

I suspect that Aces is an enhanced version of Ultra Smash on the U; great graphics, solid controls and - hopefully! - lots more game modes. I do like Warriors titles; I'm a pretty new fan of the series and I like the idea of a complete version of the Hyrule version. As for Dark Souls, I've not played it and I will be terrible at it... but I am keen to give it a go!

Oh, and Kirby looks good as well. I had a lot of fun with the multiplayer gameplay of Kirby's Adventure Wii and this appears to be building upon that heritage.

Am I right in saying it is the trilogy of Dark Souls that's releasing on the Switch? If so then that's definitely the largest announcement of the direct.

One game I'm surprised that didn't appear is Wolfenstein 2, that's meant to be launching early 2018 isn't it? Guess Bethesda will be releasing footage on their own behalf. Although some people seem to think there'll be a proper direct within 20 days of the mini direct looking at previous mini directs and subsequent directs. Wouldn't surprise me if we don't get a more in depth direct till March though.

Decent amount of announcements for such a small direct, though quite a few of these games are ports.

A "new way to play" sounds interesting, albeit the idea appears to be targeted at "kids". I'm kinda "nervously excited" at the moment... I hope it's something cool!

Anyway, I'll be tuning in to watch the show at 10 :-).

Could this be the first proper Switch peripheral of sorts? I'm pretty curious either way.

Nintendo Labo?

Did not see that coming. Looks equal parts mental, creative & awesome if it works how it looks.

Nifty!
