Well I'll just use my iPad charger then.

I was watching a video from Nintendo Life and the box contained two controllers, I'm not sure if it was because it was a review version or not but as I actually never got around to ordering a second controller I certainly wouldn't be against the console coming with two controllers.

Pretty sure it only comes with one, though Wii classic controllers etc will work. They even have the added bonus of having a home button so you don't have to press reset on the console

Has anyone seen segas version of this. It's a mini megadrive . They have two versions, one that plugs in the telly, comes with 80 games built in and can run actual megadrive cartridges. Plus it comes with two wireless controllers. And the other version is very Nintendo switch like, it's a handheld with the 80 games, it can also hook up to the telly, and you can download extra games onto an sd card. Hate to say it but looks better than the nintendo mini

The build quality on those are generally pretty bad. The handheld ones in particular are infamous for their LCD screens and sound emulation being absolute garbage.

That said, props to them for being bold enough to say "Yeah, you can totally just put ROMs on it."

Yeah the SEGA ones are awful. They're not made by SEGA, they're cheap clones with the SEGA name slapped on them via a license agreement. They have crap video and audio outputs, if you want to play Mega Drive games, just buy a model 1 or 2. If you just want to play with ROMs, buy a Raspberry Pi. The emulation is closer to a Mega Drive, the video isn't rubbish and they're cheaper.

Edit: Oh yeah and the controllers are infrared, totally worthless.

But other than that, you really like it :D

I used to have the Sega plug in the TV mega drive things that had around 6 games build in, they were really fun back in the day.

I'm not gonna bother with the NES Mini, cable is far too short for me, I'm not sitting right up to the tv to play the games. And in all honesty I have around half of these games on my 3DS Virtual console so I'm gonna leave it.

Mine has arrived :D. My spare controller came in the normal post, then I had to wait a couple of hours for Amazon to deliver the console lol.

Loving it so far, aside from the seriously short controller cable. Definitely need to buy extensions for the controllers at some point.

I agree, its seriously short. I never watched any unboxing videos or anything like that as was a bit miffed they couldn't even put a plug on the power cable too. Good job I have a USB plug to charge my phone, looks like it'll be getting shared from now on.

I've not had chance to actually load it up and play anything as of yet, should have chance in the next few days hopefully. Not liking the short cables though, I heard they were short but I didn't anticipate them being that short, dare say I'll get used to it though.

I don't think Nintendo have to worry too much about people hacking it. For a start, at a minimum it'll require soldering and at that point you already lose most folks. You may as well just bin the internals and put a Raspberry Pi in there.

I got one of the controllers but not the machine itself - I've already got all of the games that I would want from it anyway. Used the controller for the first time in this video. Good fun, it was - felt like I'd gone back in time. 8-)

There's a soft mod available for the NES Mini now. You can add new games over USB, 97 games in total seems to be the limit. The emulator doesn't support all mappers but it's pretty compatible, everything I've tried works (Duck Tales, FInal Fantasy 2 & 3 translations, Castlevania 3, Batman and a few others).

You can find the details in here:

The newest version of Hakchi2 also adds a new version of the controller driver, you can pick a button combination to act like reset/home button to quit games. Very handy.

I was playing Quake on mine this week :D

The mod scene around it is pretty great already, but with Nintendo selling this many I expect wonderful things in the near future for it.
