I'd be happy with more MK8 DLC, not like the Wii U has much else coming out this year.

I don't think its anything like a hidden announcement/teaser for new DLC. Its probably just telling newer folk to Kalimari Desert to wait for the train to pass instead of trying to beat it, if you get it wrong then you get hit and lose a lot of time and ground to other players/AI. I could be wrong though. It amuses me just how many others have jumped on the DLC bandwagon straight away instead of thinking about it.

It's to do with that #MK8 more than anything, since obviously Kalimari Desert isn't a part of Mario Kart 8.
It really is half and half I guess. If the Twitter accounts of Japan and America get onto some teasing, that's more fuel and more concrete to it being something more.

And of course there's the fact that the DLC was real good, so any hints at all of more and people will jump at it.

If we were getting anything at all I'd like to think it's more Battle Maps too. Since that was the main area of gripe with most people.
I am the reason, the answer and the problem.

I'd agree with this since MK8's battles are horrendous and boring. If they'd made proper arenas in the first place it would have easily been the best MK ever....if that is what that tweet is hinting about.

Almost certainly if I'm having friends round to play games, but otherwise no. I never really played the single player that much in 8 tbh

I am not still play them. Haven't had a multiplayer session in a while, and otherwise I don't really fancy the singleplayer that much anymore. Don't really enjoy the competitive side enough to like the online much either.

Revival of this thread for Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, I think.

And can I be the first to say I'm glad it looks to be ten all new characters, instead of four plus Wii U DLC ones. Not sure if that really is the case, especially since multiple forms of a character are possible [so all those inklings we saw could just be one character spot], but it still looks great either way. And proper battle arenas. And returning items like the feather from Super Mario Kart.
Can't wait to see more. Oh, and shoutout to Luigi's Mansion battle arena returning from Double Dash.

Yeah a lot of additions to the game. I do wonder why they didn't go for a full-fledged Mario Kart 9 though

But does that mean we are gonna have to buy a whole new fully priced boxed copy of Mario Kart 8 Deluxe for Switch? For owners of the Wii U version (like myself) I would be quite annoyed if there was not some sort of discount for us, and if that was the case the new DLC stuff for Deluxe was not added to Mario Kart 8 for Wii U

Considering it's nearly three years since 8 was released I would've thought it would have been better to make MK9, but hey the game does look good and there's some nice new addition.

Did anybody notice the return of the feather and ghost items in the trailer? And the return of proper battle areas? Although I already own MK8 and it's DLC, this'll still be one I pick up on release. It'll be great having a proper battle mode again since 8's is rubbish.

I heard somewhere that there isn't going to be any new tracks bar the original games 32 tracks and the 16 dlc track, still 48 tracks isn't that bad at all though it would be nice if there was a couple of new cups.

Yes, but since DLC pack 1 and 2 have now merged with the full game, they've got to save something to get more money from you, haven't way?
That's what I've seen from the more cynical people around the internet. Makes sense in terms of getting more money, and if true we probably wouldn't hear anything about that until E3 anyway. However, I'd like to hold out hope that it was a false statement to hide the fact there's more yet to come.
After all, we'd know there was more coming then, wouldn't we? Rather than it be a surprise in the future.

I'm just glad to see proper battle arenas and Bob-Omb Battle coming back. I wonder if Shine Thief will make a return too? That was fun. Maybe we'll get Double Deck too, as that's the only MK64 arena that hasn't been brought back yet.

It would be nice to have a few extra tracks, but I won't be too disappointed if there aren't. I also wonder if they'll expand the replay options as well?

I wouldn't want them to go to the level of detail of the Rockstar Editor for replays, but being able to scroll through the race and select certain parts would be enough. As I've said numerous times, sometimes MKTV will not do what you want of it.
For instance, I have a great reply of a split second finish, but none of the camera angles will show that.

From the sounds of it is turning out to more be like a 3rd DLC pack, with the Battle Arenas, new characters and 2 new items. So more than usual, but for £60? Not too sure. Hopefully there's some sort of discount for Wii U owners, but I doubt it
