I agree, think that advert is fantastic :) Pretty sure I saw that the song is being released on the 20th of October, if it's just a 99p song I'll definitely be downloading it, things never seem as good when you use a YouTube to MP3 conversion tool.

I might buy it just to show support, but the extended version will still win out when online. Right?

Nope. This one.

Joking, of course. I'm just surprised such a thing exists.

Think I would be sick of it after listening to it for 10 hours!

Yeah. It loses anything that made it special after having listened to it for that long. Though if anything, you'd probably have tuned out of really hearing the song way before the half-way point.

Second phase of the hype is starting to kick in fellas. Been trying to avoid as much as I can, excluding trailer stuff. Haven't felt this excited since the build up to Galaxy.

I'm going to RTX London this weekend (hopefully, I need to get well enough to leave the house by tomorrow) - and it turns out there Odyssey stuff going on there. Hoping it'll be good!

I watched the spoilers.

It's godly.

I mean, usually I'm against spoils... but like Sonic Mania - I just don't and likely won't own a switch (or current gen) system for some time so I don't care to much at the moment.

I will say though, the unlock-able outfits... the post game tease (and indeed where you can and WILL go) is pretty epic - so if you love fan service - much like the galaxy games, Nintendo have you well and truly covered here!

With the perfect timing of recording clips, I just realised it's going to be even tougher to avoid spoilers >,>

I think at this stage the only thing that really bothers me with this game is that there are entire Kingdoms that are hanging in midair, the multitude of the smaller linear platform/puzzle stages that are hidden away are the main culprits for that though. I think Galaxy worked a treat disguising this just because of the setting, Mario Sunshine had Sea's, Coasts and Hills to mask the barriers, and as Mario 64 revolutionised the genre it can be forgiven for that particular shortcomings... so why can't Nintendo be more inventive with it's masking here in pristine and glorious HD? It's such an eyesore - and was one of the few things I disliked about 3D Land/World as well.

I also ponder if this game is really is as open as claimed - I mean I don't expect BOTW by any means obviously, but how many 2D seg-ways and random side areas will there be really? I mean within the logic of the game some of the transportation captures to side-areas don't really make much sense - like the rockets for example... what's the purpose of them beyond being something for Mario to Capture to transport somewhere? Nothing. They just look out of place.

In the long run though, these bug bears will hardly matter because the game will still be incredible (and having played it already I know that to be true) but Nintendo is well renown for the little touches, so it pains me when they fall short on small things like this.

With collecting loads of Moons in every area, I'm guessing they'll be pretty open to explore. I'm fine with smaller compact worlds with more detail too.

Speaking of spoilers earlier, Youtube is now throwing random endgame stuff in my recommended videos section so just a heads up. Delete any recent Odyssey stuff from your history to prevent getting them.

It's mario logic, don't worry about it

This is a world where blocks are floating literally everywhere

That... is actually a pretty good point. XD

I think I've just been a bit spoiled by how they handled things in Sunshine and Galaxy - side stages are always random as gooseberry fool really, which is part of the fun. I've probably just been a bit too spoiled by Zelda BOTW. I don't expect vastness from Mario games and I shouldn't really expect logical areas to make sense either... but some constancy would be nice between Kingdoms with regards to how boundaries work. New Donk City is the one that's disappointed me here the most because I was really excited about jumping around the huge city from the initial first trailer... expect that's all down on the ground and this playground for Mario is a chunk of city... in the sky? I guess? I mean, I get it... this is a platform game, so he can't go everywhere obviously. And also (don't click for BIG spoilers...)
...Princess Peaches castle. It's here! They've HD'd the area from the N64 area... and then some. You can even go inside to some degree. The only thing is... it's an entire area just hanging in the sky above what I guess is the world/forest/hills? So... yeah.
Totally awesome otherwise though.

My copy might arrive tomorrow which is pretty hype. But I'm currently deep into playing Ys VIII (which is amazing in it's own right) and don't plan on jumping into Odyssey until after I've completed it. It's going to be torture, but I really don't want to leave something unfinished.

I'm hoping the code on Amazon appears dead-on midnight, allowing me to instantly download it ready for when I wake up again. I know it'll take literally no time at all, but there's always the chance for a bit of night-time playing if I can't sleep.

got this two days early

505 moons in

i cant begin to describe how satisfying mario feels in this game

the entire game is designed around the basic moveset but it gives you so much to be creative with and i think it's topped galaxy as my favourite just because of how good it feels to play

they knocked this out of the fucikng park

finale was amazing

honestly if you own a switch and you dont get this game then know that i am silently judging you for such a ridiculous decision

Not enjoyed a game this much since my first few steps in Breath of The Wild back in March. Crazy to think Nintendo have released two superb games from two of their best franchises in 7 months.

Still exploring the first kingdom anyway, I've gone to the second one but already gone back to the first one to see what's changed, no idea how many moons are in the first Kingdom but I'm upto 17 currently.

Edit, found the list saying how many moons are in each kingdom, still got a few to go then although I'm up to 20 right now. Also going to go and revisit the Cappy kingdom as that seems to have 17 moons to find which I guess may have appeared now.
