Does anyone know how to get the dog statue/figure that can be seen in the odyssey. My son spotted it online and now that's all he goes on about. Had a quick Google and found nothing. Thanks on advance
a dog appears on boards the odyssey when you complete it
thanks, I'll have to double check his save file as I'm sure he has already done as you suggest and still doesn't have it
Ignore him anyway, he's wrong. The dog only appears in the Odyssey when you're landed on levels where there's no dog based moon in the level.

I found certain aspects of the game frustrating.
1) The removal of power-ups renders the question mark blocks totally unexciting: they contain hearts or coins and that's it. No 1-Ups, no unexpected Fire Flower. They felt a bit pointless.

2) Most of the transformations slow the game right down. I'm not saying Mario's gotta go fast, but there needs to be a balance somewhere.

3) Moons are thrown at you like confetti, so what was usually a massive achievement in previous games felt diluted to the point of having no impact. Turn a corner, find a Moon.

I guess I just need to adjust.
I'm not trying to say it's a bad game, far from it! Wonderful joy for huge stretches of exciting worlds. Just... niggly. To me.

Finally jumped into Odyssey last night. Just from the couple hours I've put in has already got me giddy with excitement for whats to come. Also it eats me up inside knowing there Moons you have to leave behind. I've always had that mentality to clear as much as I can for each area. This game is about to consume me >,>

I started Odyssey yesterday too and yes, I'm pretty sure there are certain opportunities Iv'e been forced to leave behind - surely there's a moon you can get by activating all the lights in Bonneton.

Already lost count of all the moons Iv'e collected in Tosterina, all before I even approached the main ruins.

Stayed up pretty late trying to clean up Tosterina last night. Some underground levels that took me by surprise especially a certain one that similar to those in Sunshine. Really hope I encounter more of them.

Follow my path, this is the game that can break that mentality

Just finished the main story. Not a whole lot I can say that hasn't been said so I won't to into detail but yeah - it was very good. I've only got about 350 moons so there's plenty left to do.

Too late because I refuse to go to the next Kingdom until I collect every possible Moon in Tostarena """>,> This is my curse and I accept it. If it takes a too much of a toll on my momentum I might be inclined to move on lol. I'm actually enjoying taking my time in each Kingdom tho.

Side note to finding Moons, nothing feels worse than wasting 50 coins on a hint that should have been super obvious to you in the first place. I'm only going for hints when it gets to a point where there are only a dozen or so Moons left.

Currently at 850 Moons. Now for the long haul of the post game Kingdoms. Collecting Moons has been a pretty great experience for the most part. I definitely think some of them could have been held back in favour of more post game kingdoms tho. I like the aspect of exploring and finding stray Moons, but some are just really lazily placed imo. Not super satisfying to get. I think we could have easily had more hidden levels with more challenging platforming and puzzles. Personally love the ones where you have to traverse without Cappy. Weren't enough of them.

The Honeylune Ridge: Escape music is absolutely still the best vocal song, even when its been doubled in speed.
Yeah, I'm on Youtube with the speed setting doubled. Cus, why not?

Got this for Christmas, absolutely love it, much better than BotW imo. Definitely up there with 64, Sunshine and the Galaxies. Found all the purple coins though I'm a tad stuck now with 4 moons left to find. Been getting help from Talkatoo but I refuse to pay 50 coins for hints beyond that. Though Idk how obvious the hints are. Previous Mario games are usually like "Hit this block for help" and it just makes you invincible for the whole level or just skips the level for you etc, so I haven't tried it. What are they actually like?

The hints you get from Toad mark a location on the map that a moon will be, but other than that you still have to find them yourself. Combine that with Talkatoo for the name of it, and it makes it just a bit easier.

Ah ok that doesn't sound too bad, might actually do that then thanks.

New mode seems fun with the element of finding stuff within the Kingdoms. There's no way they are stopping it there with content tho. There's gotta be a big piece of DLC coming later. Got every moon and still felt like there was something missing. I know they could add so much more to this.

The new mode reminds me a lot of the online photo hunting in Gravity Rush 2, and that's a great thing

The new mode seems like a great way to use the larger levels that have been created. Bravo!

Put this back in my Switch a couple of days ago, casually collected four Moons in New Donk City. The ability to dip in and out of it might change my opinion of it over time: playing it through to the ending, I wasn't as impressed as I'd hoped. However, now I'm going to be casual with the game, its simple joys might come to the fore. Time will tell!

Finished the main story and playing around in the Mushroom Kingdom.

I love the Mushroom Kingdom, I've dreamed of wondering around an open world-ish hub Mushroom Kingdom since Mario 64 and I'm not at all disappointed. I freaked when I saw Peach's Castle exactly as it was in 64
(and Yoshi on the roof)
This has overtaken Mario Galaxy as my all time favourite 3D Mario.

Nice spoilers fam

So I used Toad to find 1 of the 4 moons I had left to find, but Toad did not help for the last 3:

(Includes hints/solutions)
A Treasure Made from Coins

I already knew this was in the Deep Woods. Looked it up and saw it required the Coin Coffer and figured it out from there. I didn't realise the shiny pebbles around the sapling were actually coins

Seaside Kingdom Art

Admittedly, this one was quite clever, but a bit too subtle for my liking. Looked up it was in the Metro Kingdom and figured it out from there.

Dark Side Art 4

Looked up it was in Cloud Kingdom. Didn't realise it was even a thing. Tbf, I probably should have just checked the kingdom in the first place. The colour hints to it, I think I was just being lazy by this point.

I currently have 320 odd moons collected, so I have plenty of moons still to find, seriously this game has a huge amount of post game content.

Some of the hint art was so devilishly obscure. Like the post-game one in Bonneton. Those that have done it know what I mean.
