I got mine today (the amiibo did not arrive, still not dispatched) I could not work out why I couldn't update the game and it was because I had not been on my switch in a while it was updating the other games first like Zelda

I also got the pro controller and wow! It looks and feels amazing, I have read reviews for the pro controller and people say its "the best controller ever" and I didn't really believe it but now I do, its the perfect size and weight, it feels well made and very comfy, its even better than my favourite controller which is the Xbox One one

That Nintendo app is super weird, but it's not as if it doesn't work. It's just a really inelegant solution to a simple thing.

Made a little highlights video of some of the matches I've played early on, I'm a little bit rusty since the first Splatoon but I think I'm getting my splatting mojo back

So how's the Single player on Splatoon 2? Enjoyed it on the first one but it felt like it could have been longer. The second an improvement in this area? Multiplayer looks as good as ever, probably pick this up when I get my Switch in August. Still got a Metroid Prime 2&3 to complete first, still got best part of a month (getting Switch for when Mario+Rabbids comes out) so hopefully it'll be about right time wise.

Haven't tried it yet, will play that when I go on holiday and haven't got internet. While at home will probably just play online unless I get bored.

Finished the single player today. It's much better than the first, levels take maybe 10 minutes average, and the final area has a suitable difficulty spike (from very easy to kinda harder but still not too bad). Final boss is pretty standard, I'd say the final boss from Splat1 was better.

Anyone up for creating a squid squad and having a cracking at league battles at some point?

I think I'm going to save the single player campaign until I go on holiday, that way I have something to play then having exhausted all my other handheld options.

For now my playtime on Splatoon 2 will be exclusively multiplayer matches. Got up to Level 8 today and reached the halfway point.

Played against Bee Doof a little bit today. Slightly annoying how almost every time I tried to join though, he decided to leave for and then come back later

Also tried out Salmon Run, can see that being a very fun addicting mode.

How do Salmon Run? It didn't seem to be available last night. Minimum level requirement?

Sounds like the single player is definitely better in this one, will have to try and make sure I play more online than I did in Splatoon, was still focused on MK8 online when Splatoon came out so never really gave it a chance. Splatoon 2 looks amazing, really tempted to cave in and get an order in for a Switch somewhere, most of them seem to be back orders though so I'll probably still be waiting a short while before I actually get one.

about the same until the final boss, where the first game blows the second out of the water

Can't remember what it was called but the final boss in Splatoon was fantastic, is the single player in S2 longer than Splatoon's or about the same again?

I only got to play one full game of Salmon Run (I got my first disconnect on the second) but damn it's fun

Best mode in Splatoon 2? I think so

I wish it had local split screen

About the same, but levels are designed around specific weapons so it's got a bit more going for it. Can play levels with EVERY weapon, so there's a challenge for those among us that are gooseberry fool mad.

Beginning to think Aerosprays are a bit too overpowered at the moment. And it seems everyone is using them

So I have maybe a 10% DC rate when I'm on handheld, and a 75% DC rate when I'm on TV mode.

Go Nintendo!

Sounds like it almost works as a long practice for various weapons online.

Anyway, just waiting to order my copy of Splatoon 2 when my Switch is nearer dispatch.
