I did have a SNES (but not many games for it), but I think I would possibly still want one of these even if I didn't. I didn't have a mega drive, but I still loved and played the eton mess out of "Mega Drive Ultimate Collection" on 360 and never owned a NES but enjoyed the NES mini too. There is an element of my wanting the SNES mini 'cause nostalgia and I am excited to hold something that is roughly the same as the original controller; but I'm mostly excited about this because there's loads of tier 1 games I've never played and unlike purchasing them off e-shop I'll get to play them as they were intended to be played. Personally I'm more excited for this then I was for the Switch or anything else gaming related for years.
Come here to talk about anything to do with Nintendo, including Switch, WiiU, 3DS and mobile.

They aren't really made to make money, they're basically elaborate publicity stunts to keep Nintendo relevant and get people to buy Switches when they're available.
They're cheap and a one off sale, there's no way to buy more games etc so most of the cash won't even go to Nintendo, it goes to the hardware folks. Personally I'd get the SNES launch out of the way then next summer just increase the price to cover the effort and dump a few million of both on the market for the sake of meeting the demand. Nintendo are bound to be aware of how annoyed people are getting at their availability.

I would love to be able to buy one of these but its not looking likely I will be able to due to the preorders sold out everywhere, like amiibo I find these shortages extremely annoying
