Smash 4 and PM in Basingstoke this saturday. This is their first tournament, I think planned to be a monthly, so support would be appreciated. Even if you don't want to enter the tournaments come for friendlies and if not that either then please share to anyone you think would be interested.

Heading to another tourney this weekend in Newcastle. Their seeding was fairly naff initially as many of the North East players were seeded much higher than players who are positioned much higher than them on the northern PR (e.g. my seed my 9th, and therefore I was in Genki's pool (the best player in the north east) which was a huge issue). Many people actually said their seeding was bad and they changed it so it's now slightly better but still not great. Despite the seeding, I'm really looking forward to this weekend!

I took a ten day break from Smash to play through Skyward Sword and enjoy Wales getting to the Semi finals in the euros which helped me get the hunger to play back a little. I joined the Smash UK discord and I'm starting to use netplay again. My CPU grind has done it's job in making me better at control and fundamentals. I now need to make myself faster at the game so I can keep up with the speed everyone else is playing at (Might try and re-learn Fox or T-Link to go with my Marth/Ike).

I also need to learn to control my nerves, my play style goes to eton mess when there is something big to play for. The store in my area that hosts tournaments did an improvised round robin the other day where everyone throws a pound in which helped me a bit, if they do those more often it'll help my mental block. It would also help me if everyone there hadn't dropped Smash for Overwatch recently but I can't have it all.

Also seriously considering going to DatBlastZone but money is tight so it'll take some serious budget work. My hunger for it is back which is the most important thing though.

Attended Newcastle's Don't Get Hit over the weekend and managed to get 4th. I was once again knocked out by Magi and FROG. Really hoping I can beat both of them in a tourney soon and manage to claim a first place at a tourney this summer.

Was hoping to binge on everything Smash 4 during Evo but looks like I'll be missing some of pools on Friday and all of Semifinals on Saturday thanks to work which sucks. Will thankfully make it back in time for Finals tho. So hyped for this weekend.

Went to the Blackpool tourney yesterday. I managed to get 5th, which honestly I feel really disappointed about. My Mario didn't feel on point at all throughout the day, however I continued to use him instead of switching to Diddy who proved to do well in pools. I was knocked into losers by someone I was previously 3-0 up to in sets and then lost to the 5th best player in the north. I feel that this week I'm going to give Mario a bit of a break and focus on my Diddy a bit more. Next week is the Manchester tourney and I am determined to make top 3.

Top 8 for both games were amazing. So happy for Hbox too. The man fought his life for that win.

I was rooting against Hbox throughout that top 8, but I did find the grand finals sets enjoyable to watch. Happy to see Plup and PewPewU do well. Shame Plup kind of crumbled towards the end.

Port Smash 8 on saturday was good fun. Was sent into losers first round of bracket by a Bowser player called Allios. Had to do the entire losers run, knocking out Allios along the way, 3 stocking him one game, and came back to win it so that was nice. Looking like I'll still be sticking with Bayo for the time being, but I want to keep working on my Cloud and maybe take a look at Mario cause I can't stand the Sonic mu.

I think the 3 mus I struggle with most currently are Sonic, Pikachu and maybe Ness? I struggled with Mario for a while but I think my Bayo handles it alright for me.

How was the new venue? Looked nice based off of some of the pics. And how different was the competition, more varied and/or better?

If you want to do better in the Sonic MU, I wouldn't advise going Mario. In my opinion the MU is either even or even potentially in Sonic's favour (55:45). Isn't Cloud decent enough in that MU anyway?

If Ike is considered favourable over Sonic then Cloud should also have favour.

The new venue was good, very big, but not so many plug sockets so extension cables are definitely needed and apparently the wifi wasn't great. But yeah the competition definitely seemed better, nice variety of characters and new players. The pot was definitely bigger too :^}

I guess I should just keep at it with Cloud, even if I only use him for sonic, but I can't really go offstage to attempt to gimp him. Sonic's so hard to gimp as it is, and sonic has great neutral so I'd rather not give him the chance. I just personally struggle in the mu.

I'll be entering SmashDash 6 this weekend. Really hoping to do well as this event is pretty stacked. The following week I'll be at Dat Blast Zone, entering this event will really show where I stand skill wise, as I'm considered to be one of the top players within my region, however outside may be a different story.

Another 5th place. It's not bad at all, but I keep being knocked into winners and losers by those who are above me in the PR, and that's something I really need to sort out soon. Lost to Magi in Winners semis (for the 6th gooseberry fool time this year) and then lost to MartynMW in losers quarters. I 3 stocked the 5th best in the north game 1 though so that's kinda dope.

Cool stuff. There seems to be more tournaments in the north than down here. Pretty jelly. Who did Frog use most/against Magi?

I think Frog used Corrin in both winners finals and grands. And yeah, there's usually a tourney at least once every 2 weeks in the north.

This is unreal. Been barely months of the modding scene blowing up and we're here already.
