This was my most wanted Wii U game of the rest of the year. I know it'll be even better for the delay, though.

I didn't think this game would get delayed after they said it was due this year, I was under the impression it was finished and ready, other than Mario Tennis what other Nintendo Wii U games are coming out this year?

It'll be Mario Tennis, Xenoblade and AC:AF that will be the big ones i suppose!

Nintendo? Delaying a videogame?!

Kind of expected this, to be honest. I think once they showed it off there were a lot of people talking about things they didn't like rather than things that they liked, myself included. I'm looking forward to seeing how it turns out, but I'll be in no rush to get it.

If the visuals aren't improved tenfold then I don't know what they're really playing at with this game, the gameplay and levels seem to be there already from the previews and what not.

I wouldn't even mind if they delayed it again, my Nintendo backlog is pretty big at this point, I could probably last another 6 months with no new releases.

My backlog isn't even that big (as I've pretty much given up even trying some of the rubbish games I've been bought over the years) but it's more finding the time to actually play said games. Saying that I doubt Star Fox will be that long if you just plan on one or two play-throughs.

Probably true, but it is a time issue as well as a size of the backlog issue. Maybe I could easily complete Star Fox Zero if I ignore the other games, but seeing all it has to offer might be a different issue. I don't consider myself bad at games but I tend to take my time in finishing them in terms of hours spent playing.

Nintendo's definitely acting strangely. I'm going to hope that this isn't another Duke Nukem Forever and when Star Fox AND Zelda both get released, they'll be amazing. I'm guessing the NX has something to do with the delay.

Unlikely, unless you want high quality visuals at the expense of a low frame-rate across both screens.

Admittedly I expected better from them too, but considering the experience they're going for is with this dual screen gameplay, it may just end up worth it if they can polish the gameplay aspects up even further...

I'd much prefer the spend the extra time including extra modes rather than hugely upgrading the graphics, a little more polish but nothing major. A couple of multiplayer modes would be much more beneficial in my opinion, couple of examples could be:

- local co-op, go through the story mode where player 1 controls the arwing via the gamepad only and player 2 uses the TV screen only, they could also include a multiplayer dogfight as well.
- online, 4 v 4 dogfight with players randomly assigned to team Star Fox or Star Wolf, team with the biggest point total wins obviously.

They're just a couple of quickly thought up examples of how it could be improved in my opinion, maybe not great ideas but much better than just upgrading the graphics in my opinion.

I've been thinking about what it would be like if we basically had No Man's Sky but with a StarFox skin...

My mind can't handle the theoretical awesomeness!!

Anyway, I know it's a long shot, but I'm still hoping that, secretly until release, they will add online multiplayer. I mean, Star Fox 64 3D had local dogfights with face cam implementation, and I wanna see that for the Wii U version, but be used to better effect by having online functionality. But I know it won't happen

To be honest I'd be slightly disappointed if the game was delayed by (probably) 6 months just to make the graphics a bit better, I'd much prefer a multiplayer mode or two that would add another experience to the game and increase its longevity for the consumer.

But then again I still think the graphics are perfectly acceptable, not great but good enough considering its planning to be 720p/60fps on both screens isn't it?

in a recent interview with gamespot, platinum games yusuke hashimoto reiterated that the game is still running at 60fps on both game screen and pad. its clear this is priority to the game

Thought I'd give this a bump as there are fresh rumours (thanks to a French retailer) that it's been delayed again to July 2016.

Hopefully if it is actually delayed (again) they will be implementing a decent multi-player dogfight mode. Would greatly add to the longevity of the game in my opinion.

I know multiplayer was mentioned when the teaser site went up but has it actually been confirmed as of yet?

Platinum doing sp and Nintendo doing MP has been the dialogue for a long time now.

Nintendo have reconfirmed this for the April release date anyway, seems like the French retailer was wrong on this one.
