Was there any attempt to keep the old forums going? Like donations or anything? It couldn't have cost that much per month for them forums to run?..

I think it would have been a licensing issue, given that we were no longer officially associated with Nintendo when the magazine went belly up.

I swear to god that question gets asked like 50 times a year, can't you just staple a captain obvious FAQ to the frontpage, welcome thread AND the account creation page so we can live in the now

Back in the days of the old forums I would always try to submit games to the senates for approval that were conceived on a whim and denied immediately. I even tried to do a Layton/Wright crossover having never played a Phoenix Wright game.

I am quite happy not to revisit the forums if it means having to come face-to-face with the old me.

The noticeably fewer people nowadays is horrible in comparison.

I miss ONM's activity

The forum is far too quiet these days. I miss reading long debates and seeing the forum more active. At the same time I like seeing all the memes you guys make up.

Well with declining membership it was pretty valid (and I don't think people would leave merely because of those threads so the other correlation should be accurate)

Nice an idea though this forum is, I think we all knew that the best case scenario was that it would maintain some of ONM's userbase. I don't think it ever really stood a chance at flourishing much beyond that. The only way it really could go was down

What we need is a good article like the Senran Kagura Burst written by [ONM staff guy]. That one made sign ups artificially swell by about 400,000% IIRC

Mario games are all boring, poorly-controlled, non-inventive, piles of eton mess. There. Let's see new people sign up to disagree to that.

Seriously, I really do think Mario games suck, btw.

the problem is we're no longer affiliated with a magazine so nobody has an inclination to check the forum out.

and anyone that does check it out will see that there are maybe 10 active threads and nobody posts in the week.

I miss ONMix, the members on there didn't mince their words when letting me know how much of a gooseberry fool idiot I was at times which did me a lot of good in the long run.

Don't say that, a lot of people on here will use that as an excuse to carry on abusing other members.
