IT'S TIME FOR SERIES 2 OF SONM ROBOT WARS!
Now that real Robot Wars can't distract from our battles, we can come back in pride to battle increasingly unmechanised machines in a fight for glory!
Helping me in this search, yet again, is our battling boffin: Barry Bubbleflaps!
Thrilled as ever, it seems! Now, it's time for the layout!Barry Bubbleflaps wrote:Why the gooseberry fool am I doing this again, I could've taken that job for Battlebots in America ages ago, but noooooo.
As before, we'll choose 20 robots to enter and fight each other to the death, all decided on by the lovely members of SONM! However, we'll be doing a new rule for entries...
You may now choose TWO robots to enter! That's right. One main robot to enter and a replacement, should entry numbers be low. Plus, if you desire, you can have one of your previous robots from the first series as your replacement bot! Want to see the Automato make his return? Now's your chance.
Rules are mostly the same, but here they are for any newcomers to the sport:
You may enter any robot you like into the competition. To qualify as a robot, your robot must have at least one metal part to it. These can include steel, iron, copper, gold, watches, braces, prosthetic arms, armour, etc. Basically, anything metal.
Clusterbots (Partners) are banned.
Once enough robots are entered, a number of fights will take place, either being a two-way battle between two robots or a four-man battle royale. The winner of each fight is decided randomly out of all the participating robots, who will then stay on for the next set as the other robots are scrapped. Users can vote on who they think should win the battles before each round, which increases a robot's chance of winning. However, this isn't a surefire solution for a robot's victory.
OK, it's been a while, but... LET THE WARS BEGIN!
