The lack of Shenmue renders that list invalid (and don't even get me started at their inclusion of one of the worst Final Fantasy games).

But it still doesn't address the fact that a terrible Final Fantasy game was included at the expense of a truly great one like FF9.

It may look and feel dated now, but at the time it was utterly groundbreaking.

When ranking/rating from a modern perspective it is very hard to take things like that into account tho, cuz there's no real way to gauge how that should translate to its placement in something as vague as a "top 100 games of all time" list

It certainly was, I found for me it was the first game I ever played where I felt immersed in the game world, it was truly amazing, sadly I don't think it made enough from sales to cover its development costs

When you buy a DVD / Blue-ray boxset and at the beginning of an Episode it gives you a "previously on..." then shows clips from past episodes.

I used to watch Breaking-Bad the day it aired in America on the internet, so the episodes were shown as they were on American television and always did a "previously on AMC's Breaking Bad" which you didn't have on the DVDs and it was a bit annoying because depending on what clips you were shown you knew what old plot-threads they was going to pick-up, but it was sort of ok as it was on the TV so I suppose it could be possible that people could dip in and out from the show.

But I'm watching season 3 of Gotham and the DVD's always give a "previously on Gotham" and if on an episode towards the end of the season they reference something they rested at the beginning of the season it's a bit of a spoiler and unnecessary as presumably if you are watching the DVD you watched the episodes in order.... but I did pay actual money for Gotham...so you know, you reap what you sow

People who answer an either/or question with "yes"

Mainly fuelled by the umpteen times at work yesterday I said "hi would you like some pimms or some orange juice?" and got the very helpful reply of just "yes"

The fact that Family Guy isn't just slightly worse than it is - so then I could just never watch it again. I never seek it out, but I'll ocasionally watch it late at night when it's too-early-to-go-to-bed-but-to-late- to-do-anything-else. It hate how casually racist, misogynistic, homophobic and just generally offensive it can be, not often but there have been a few things that it has done that have hurt my feelings quite deeply actually.

But.....every now and then and even on the newer one's which are generally considered eton mess there are little moments which I think are a bit brilliant. There will be a song, or a little cut-away or an obscure reference to a meme or a computer game where they pick-up and run with a subtle observation about it or a Brian / Stewie moment or an extended rant or monlogue or the level of detail it might go into ina spoof of a film I enjoy, or a song. But these moment happen SO infrequently (like maybe 3 or 4 times a season) - but just enough for me to occasionally watch it. Related I think this is great;

----------------------------------------

"a bit miffed" is the right words for this because I understand it's a necessary annoyance but the approach of people that try to sign-up to charitys in the street.

I do think they are excessively pushy (probably as much so as drug dealers and employment agents), they can tell when people don't want to talk to them but they strategically stand so they can stop as many people as possible. I have a few direct debits with a few charitys but I have never set-up a standing order with someone with a clipboard in the street - when I get myself set-up with charitys, I look into it and work out how much I can spare and where it's going etc. but I won't be guilt tripped by someone in the street that is earning a wage and is personally incentivised (sometimes not even a direct employee of the charity) for me to sign up.

Just to be clear I'm talking about some people that are employed by charitys. Homeless people that ask you for money in the street or volunteers with charity boxes (which I find admirable) in no way annoy me.

You're referring to a group of people known as 'chuggers', they are almost always total bellends who seem to go out of their way in trying to harrass me when i'm just minding my own business doing a bit of shopping.

I have absolutely no time for them whatsoever.

Not so, there have been many classic episodes over the years, Road to the Multiverse being one such example.

Jeremy Vine / public shaming

https://www.standard.co.uk/news/crime/j ... 22616.html

So last year he was involved in some road rage incident, shared a video from his helmet camera to the public which resulted in the woman being jailed. I know very little about the case, I certainly haven't and never will watch the video but I understand he was the victim. What I do take issue with is his filming and sharing the video of the incident - to me this comes from exactly the same place as both revenge porn and over intrusive government surveillance.

I don't like how things can't just be dealt with privately. I don't have one - but whilst I have an issue with being filmed / people filming others when it is univited and I think everyone should have the right to live a private life - I wouldn't have anything too much against pople using a camera on a road bike - if they're ever involved in a traffic incident to help for insurance purposes or even incidents that may even involve the police - but what they should never do is put the video up on youtube for purpose of turning someone that has wronged them into a hate figure. Most of those videos don't stand-up on their own without the victim inserting some sort of narative into it either.

I avoid them but I dislike all these videos that go viral showing a racist rant on the tube - the people caught making these kind of rants are in the wrong and its perhaps right the video should be shown to the police and dealt with privately – not put on youtube.  The people in these videos are obviously in pain and you can just tell the situation is made worse by the fact they are being filmed.  The situation would have been alleviated if the person actually engaged with them rather than passively filmed them.

I'd extend all this to when either companies or youtubers are filming some eton mess promotional video / prank / public experiment and they film passerbys for reaction shots (I work in London and have happened to be in the vicinity a few times for this kind of eton mess) people don't want to be filmed without giving permission.

Vine says he feels regret that the woman in question went to prison because of his actions but the natural end point with all shaming and vilifying has to be that people are either imprisoned or end up killing themselves. Just put the gooseberry fool cameras down.

Why do people make burgers that are too big to fit in peoples' mouths? I can extend my jaw pretty far, but when I do it sort of locks into place, and my dentist told me it's not supposed to go that far and to not do it. But then I go to a burger restaurant and the burger is too gooseberry fool big, I have to extend my jaw that far like a gooseberry fool boa constrictor.

Another thing that makes me miffed is people who accept unplayably laggy online matches. When matchmaking in Rivals of Aether it shows your opponent's ping. If it's below 70 it's green to show it's good. 70-130 or so is yellow, and 130+ is red to say it's literally garbage and not worth playing. So I go into the lobby and an opponent appears with 400 ping and then the tick appears to show they're accepting of it and ready to go. Why would you want to play a non-game? I don't get it.
