Is that a trait which is even allowed in Labour these days?

On a separate note, i'd also like my neighbour to go away, just as i have done for the last decade of living next door to the selfish arrogant prick.

Star Wars
Rogue One made me sceptical, The Last Jedi sealed it. Star Wars needs a bullet to the back of the head. But now that Disney has the property we can look forward to a tedious spin off that nobody asked for every other year until the end of days

Re: Things you would like to go away in 2018
The problem Star Wars has, is that the fanbase will never be satisfied regardless of what anyone does.
If they didn't make any films, the fans would want new films, they played it safe with Force Awakens, the fans felt it was too safe, they tried a different route for Last Jedi, and the fans still aren't happy.
The makers will forever be damned when they do, and damned when they don't.

Stan Lee is the most tolerable part of the MCU films.

Re: Things you would like to go away in 2018
What i've seen of the new stuff has been pretty decent though, the problem is that the main Star Wars fanbase will forever be held back by their fanatical loyalty to the original trilogy. They see the originals as the pinnacle of perfection, so for them, it's simply impossible for any of the new stuff to live up to that.

Not sure that's the case; I don't personally hold a massive amount of nostalgia for the original trilogy, and I still didnt like the new stuff all that muchD.J wrote: ↑Sun Dec 31, 2017 6:43 pmWhat i've seen of the new stuff has been pretty decent though, the problem is that the main Star Wars fanbase will forever be held back by their fanatical loyalty to the original trilogy. That being said, episode 4 and 5 are very hard acts to follow, especially with newer, untested material. Honestly they were probably bound to make a few mis-steps in these films.

Re: Things you would like to go away in 2018
Force Awakens and The Last Jedi were very well received by critics, fans and the average moviegoer in general. It's just that there's a very vocal minority that were particularly vicious about the latest film. And with a fanbase as big as that of Star Wars, well that minority is going to be pretty big.
And let's be honest, they're not perfect films. Especially not The Last Jedi (even though I probably enjoyed that one more). That film had some pretty goofy scenes. That certain Leia scene. As for the criticism that they played Force Awakens safe - well, they did. You can't deny that. Did they play it too safe? I liked the film a lot but yeah, in my opinion they kind of did.

It used to be a bit of a treat, i remember the first time I saw him in a MCU film before I knew this was a thing they were doing and I thought it was very cool.Chocolate-Milk wrote: ↑Sun Dec 31, 2017 6:08 pmStan Lee is the most tolerable part of the MCU films.
I would rather he popped in a few in "blink and you‘ll miss it" kind of way. Having him as the Jay and the silent bob or R2D2/ C3P0 of marvel where he turns up in every film is a bit cheesy.

These don't exist in my house, thanks to my master brewing skills and posh teabags (currently using East India Company).

I disagree here, I love seeing where Stan Lee pops up in the Marvel films. I think my favourite is his cameo in Deadpool...
And they're far superior to those from DC. In fairness that doesn't take much I know but still, they're the best around.Chocolate-Milk wrote: ↑Sun Dec 31, 2017 6:08 pmStan Lee is the most tolerable part of the MCU films.

I struggle to see how anyone could dislike Guardians of the Galaxy (the first one, that is).
Most recently we had Thor Ragnarok, which is one of the best MCU films to date once you get past the misfire opening scene.
