Fanboys who consider their opinion fact and ruthlessly attack anyone who dares to disagree with them. I mean get a life.

Surprised that people didn't try and persuade me that super mario odessey wasn't the most disappointing game of 2017

You were disappointed by Mario Odyssey? How?

Edit: Just saw your review in GNC. "It doesn't have much to say for itself except it's pretty fun and really well made"

I don't follow your disappointment.

I must be the only one who hasn't played it.

I would say I was disappointed it wasn't as good as Banjo-Kazooie but I wasn't expecting it to be

Most of the moons are copy paste tedium or worse, talking to an NPC in plain sight which you get multiple moons for doing in basically every kingdom. So much filler. Being locked out of most moons until the second half of the game which are also mostly copy paste content. Capturing could have gone so much further (why not let us store the most recent capture so we can do more than capture movement option into escape into dive). Did love the set pieces though, I'll give the game that.

I think the copy-paste content only becomes a criticism if you're playing the game as a completionist or in the post-game. You can play through the entire game and have tons of fun, and if you leave it at that you might have never repeated any moons.

world peace is really short and does tell you "by the way, you only did a quarter of the game of the game, we just didn't have any more setpieces and it'll be badly paced if we don't put our last one here", you only get to be in the worlds for a cup of coffee on your first run complete with a bunch of filler moons that feel more of a tradmill than accomplishment. saying that "oh btw this game is only fun if you do a small section of it" isn't a great representation lol

No, me neither. I don't intend to buy a Switch. I'm sure XC 2 is probably good, though.
