Highly recommend the
Gobelins YT channel. It's a french animation...thingy that has hundreds of original short animations. I think they're all done by students and the like, typically about 30 secs to 3ish mins long each. They can be hit and miss, but some of them are absolutely wonderful. Some favourites of mine:

popeye meets sinbad probably
yo so Popeye is pretty great overall (maybe the single best animated series of the 30s in terms of pure talent and animation?) but although Sinbad is like, top 3 Popeye shorts I cannot condone anyone placing it over Popeye meets Ali Baba. Plus overall I think that Willard Bowsky and the Fleischers' work on Talkartoons (and later Betty Boop) will forever be the highlights of their respective careers. Popeye might be the king of early slapstick but you wanna tell me his stuff can compare to most of the early Bimbo shorts, or Minnie the Moocher? That thing blows my gooseberry fool mind even to this day.
I could write entire essays on individual decades of animation do not get me gooseberry fool started.
Also I'm pretty sure that's a Dead Leaves gif in the OP.

I love animation and cartoons and it really makes me wish I stuck with art and put more time into developing my drawing but oh well.
Steven Universe is my life. Never have I loved a cartoon so much before.

I can buy talking animals and foreign countries speaking english but playing beatles music just sticks out as really weird to me. it's like when characters from the Disney renaissance reference other 90s movies or pop culture of the time. I mean, maybe the song isn't even in the movie and they just arranged it for the trailer, I dunno. I'll still see it because laika
Norm of the North on the other hand legit looks like one of those fake trailers they screen before movies to warn you about piracy or turning your phones off or something. it's even got Rob Schneider.

I quite like American Dad, even if the quality does go up and down a fair bit.
An American Dad best clips is pretty much a Roger best clips to be honest.
I'm also subscribed to various animation accounts on youtube like
Filmcow,
Shippiddge (for Starter Squad) and
a few abridgers (though not really the same thing).

Nah I see where you're coming from. I know the points I made were to make it more appealing/accessible for a western audience but the reference was a lot less necessary and hurts the aesthetic more than it adds anything
thankfully i think its just subtle enough to slide with me

yeah it could be worse, at least they're not straight up namedropping actors and TV shows/movies or songs from the present day despite the setting being centuries in the past. can you imagine what kind of company would do that! hehhehehe
also I just watched the Capture the Flag trailer. jesus christ what is this film even supposed to be about?

Rewatched my all time favourite;
Transformers: the movie last night and it still amazes me how good it actually was for something they could have so easily gotten away with releasing any old crap.
The production quality is great, the soundtrack is superb and that cast (featuring Leonard Nimoy, Eric Idle and Orson Welles) is ridiculously good. I never tire of watching it.
I only recently found out that the animation studio also worked on Dragonball Z and Daft Punk's
Interstellar 555.
Prime is such a badass
