I'd like to throw in a contender for worst line of the prequels:

(Obi-wan's one)

That line is fine, there's many infinitely worse lines in the prequels

Guess we'll just have to accept Obi-Wan is a Sith, then.

I think you'll find the worst line is when sand person 14 says: "Erugh ohg erughghghgh!" I mean come on lucas what kind of writing is that?

Seeing as how the internet kept crashing yesterday, I got the DVDs of the original trilogy (unfortunately they have no bonus content, though I'm sure that any extra stuff can be found online). Just finished that scene where Padmé and Anakin are at the fireplace. Damn, he sounds like a gooseberry fool creepy stalker. Off to see The Force Awakens in 3D in the morning, hopefully the 3D is good and because it'll be my second watch I'll probably see a few things I didn't first time.

Edit, just got back from seeing it in 3D and first thing that struck me was how good the 3D was, fantastic particle effects and there was quite a few moments when the depth of the 3D was very good. I also really enjoyed The Force Awakens again and didn't really see much new from my first viewing. A couple of bits i did was that when Han was killed and it cut to Leia it did show a couple of concerned faces. Also when Kylo was talking to Han it related to Kylo's conversation with Snoke earlier in the film about how he must kill Han but then confessing to Han that he doesn't know how and he needs help, obviously leading Han into misinterpreting him and pulling his sons lightsaber towards him, giving Kylo the help he needed.

Also what do you think they'll do with Kylo Ren, regarding his helmet? Obviously he lost it in The Force Awakens and suffered a wound to his face. I'm thinking that as we have seen his face (something they only teased with Vader by showing the rear of his head until the end of Return of the Jedi) and he has a scar they'll just leave him without a helmet, depends how much they want Kylo to emulate Vader in that respect though.

Still a fantastic film though.

I saw this, don't know if it has been posted, but this would've been a good edit to the original films that Lucas could've made

I'll applaud It for being well put together and really showing the guilt and uncertainty of Kenobi telling Luke the truth of Anakin but it's not something id want to see implemented into ANH properly.

I saw the film today so I'm here now wohoo http://i.imgur.com/Ywlrpd3.webm

It was pretty similar to a new hope but I'm not actually that bothered because it set a nice foundation for the sequels and felt like the older films overall which was nice

I wouldn't say so. It immediately gives away the reveal of Vader being Luke's father. Arguably worse than Jabba showing up two episodes early and Han shooting first. Even if the flashbacks were different - showing clips of them joking with each other and working together, then showing Anakin burning on Mustafar (without Kenobi in sight) -, it doesn't add much.

All of the first 6 star wars films aren't that good, but they're enjoyable all the same

Had a short thought. What if she's both the child of Luke, and the granddaughter of Obi-Wan? That would fit things quite nicely. Especially if Obi-Wan's daughter was a Sith, tying nicely to EU and explaining the absence of her from IV-VI (or simply non-force user).

Idk. Revision is addling my brain, currently.

Was talking about it with some friends at uni and we all kind of agreed we just like the idea that she's a randomer with force powers. I mean the film does make it pretty clear that it's incredibly unlikely she's Luke's daughter given she was a child when she was left on Jakku but old enough to fend for herself evidently and she does still have memories of that day so she remembers who her parents were, so spitballing an age of at least 13 or something. In the time since VI Luke was still being a Jedi and was trying to restart the Jedi order by training new pupils and the like until Ben went eton mess on them which, given where things stand was likely around a decade ago (Giving Ben time to mature, receive training and be capable of slaying his fellow apprentices without Luke being able to respond in time). All the while Rey has no idea about Jedi beyond stories circulating around the galaxy, if she were a child of a practicing Jedi like Luke (who would have probably been active during her childhood as a teacher) she'd know more and still remember it. If she's a descendent of a Kenobi then there's scope for her parent to not be a force user or be in hiding to the extent that they never mentioned it, let alone acted on it. She could be Luke's granddaughter with the same deal of his kids hiding or not force capable but then you think there'd be a throw away line about Luke's family or something to hint towards that.

She was born roughly 10/11 years after the events of VI apparently, so luke's grandchild is an interesting idea in that regard
