Can't you just invent a time machine and go watch it in the future instead?
And even if you fail at making one, at least the time spent waiting was productive.

In terms of the release date, I'm fine with that owing to another Star Wars film being released near my birthday. Admittedly I could be watching it seven months earlier, but there's just something special about watching a film at the cinema for your birthday.
Oh, and it'll be battle of the films, I suppose. Avatar 2 is Christmas 2017 as well, so it'll be interesting to see which one makes the most.

Actually, Avatar 2 has had its release moved back to... sometime in 2018, I guess. Considering how little we've heard about production other than how the scripts are coming along, and that Cameron wants to shoot 2, 3, and 4 at the same time, I don't think the change had anything to do with Star Wars.

I'm loving all these Twitter accounts, especially Emo Kylo Ren and Very Lonely Luke.

I saw it on Tuesday

Ehhh

I didn't hate it, it was a fairly enjoyable film, but it just didn't carry the presence of the other films. It was very, very similar to the first film in a number of ways, the shock death of Han Solo was a blatant copy of the 'shock death' of Obi Wan Kenobi from the first film too. I suppose the death did carry slightly more weight because Han Solo was in previous films whereas obviously A New Hope was the first film Kenobi was in, but Han's character felt so much different anyway

It's been a while since anyone posted but I thought I'd share this video about the theory behind Snoke.

Looks ace, really looking forward to it already. I thought the lead female shown in the trailer kind of looked like the pilot from Force Unleashed, Juno Eclipse. I doubt there is any relation though but thought they looked a little alike from what I remember.

Haven't they been saying that Rogue One would be more serious than the norm?
The trailer sure seems to show it. Looks great either way.

Didn't think it looked that amazing really. Also most generic start to a trailer possible.

This video is so stupid, Snoke is not Plageuis for christ sake, Palpatine is not Plageuis I am baffled at how dumb this video is, star wars "fan theories" are honestly the dumbest thing i've seen.

He'll be in the film for sure. They're just holding their cards very close to their chest right now. Remember the teaser trailer for ep. 7; all new characters. It'll be the same for Rogue One.

Stupid Force Awakens question I'm sure but my knowledge of SW lore isn't great; am I right in thinking that only force users can use a lightsabre? If so, I guess that means Finn is a potential Jedi too.

And that's why Hokey religions and ancient weapons are no match for a good blaster at your side, kid.

No anyone can use a lightsaber to my knowledge, I know he was a droid but General Grievous was pretty good with a lightsaber (well 4 actually) and he didn't have any force powers. I'm not saying Finn won't turn out to be a Jedi (still unlikely in my opinion, but you never know) but I'd say he had at least some melee weapons training under the First Order and that's why he didn't look woefully bad using a lightsaber in The Force Awakens.

Probably just his weapons training stopping him from failing completely against Kylo Renthen which explains why Maz decided to hand him Lukes sabre when Rey wouldn't take it.
