Genndy Tartakovsky is so overrated. Dexter's Lab was okay but Samurai Jack just bores me. Aku is the only thing I like about it.

How can so many opinions be so wrong in a thread with only 3 pages.

I... I saw them.

Also:

I discovered this show a few days ago and I highly recommend it. It was created by the same guy who created Powerpuff Girls and Foster's.

Edd edd and eddy, dexter's lab, samurai jack... Wow, you guys like some bad shows.
I like gravity falls though. That, Adventure Time, and this cartoon called 'Clarence' are probably the best cartoons I've ever watched.

I mean MLP:FIM is prettys good but let's not get into that

Clarence is kind of like a toned down version of Ed, Edd n Eddy. It's the best show CN have done since Gumball, imo.

Can confirm Clarence is good. Besides Regular Show, it's my favourite show on CN right now.

Also, Gumball is rather lovely to watch too. The art style is very eye-pleasing.

The only part of the gumball art style that is any good though is the title screen?
I just don't get that show

I guess the appeal of the show to me is the same as what Tom and Jerry was when I was growing up. It's this cartoon style violence, with situations that just gooseberry fool up more and more as the episode goes on, as well as some nods to stuff like classic video games, old nineties TV shows (the tennis episode, anyone?) and a whole range of other things, whilst still seeming new. It appeals to the childlike side of me, and I love the new/nostalgiac feeling it gives me.

I didn't have Cartoon Network so I didn't get to see these shows that often, but when I did I didn't really like Ed Edd n Eddy. Something about its sense of humour and animation style just didn't appeal to me then and I haven't seen it since.

I loved Samurai Jack though. It was so good that you would even watch it dubbed into Irish on TG4 (I couldn't find a clip of that Irish dub, so here's the Avatar one as an example).

I was big into the dramatic cartoons. There weren't many of them compared to the comedic ones so they were kind of a novelty, and they tended to be excellent: Samurai Jack, Avatar, Batman, Justice League... those were some of my favourite cartoons. I've watched them recently and they still hold up really well as an adult, except I haven't watched Samurai Jack in years and now I want to.

Being a gigantic Tom and Jerry fan, I'm afraid I don't agree with the comparison :P

You really should. Also, if you haven't seen it, you should watch Star Wars: The Clone Wars (the original 2D animated series, not the newer 3D one). That is essentially Samurai Jack but with Star Wars, and is every bit as great as it sounds.

Saying that, the 3D one got really good as it progressed, sad that I lost the ability to watch it after the first few series.

Tom & Jerry is great and everything, but every one of those cartoons is kind of the same. As far as the classic shorts are concerned, Looney Tunes all the way.
