Game of Thrones

I'm currently enjoying the season 4 boxset of this show, it was first recommended by a friend of mine a few years back, and i became instantly hooked.

Peter Dinklage in particular is really quite brilliant in it, his performance during these recent episodes have been truly outstanding. Also, my favourite moments from the show to date have been The battle of blackwater bay, and Joffrey's wedding.

So anyhow, are there many of you fellow GoT fans out there? If so, who's your favourite characters and which moments have you enjoyed/been shocked by the most?

Don't really like the show, though that may be the outside culture relating to it seeping in. Will watch season 5 for aiden gillen, though when he dies i'll probably drop.

Love it. Seems to be one of the most consistently good shows around. Season 4 was great, the second half in particular. Can't wait for 5.

I'd say books 1, 3 and 5 surprised me the most, however 4 and 5 kind of intersect a little bit, but overall it's a great book series, and the tv show looks decent

I watched the 4 seasons and read books 4 and 5. Loving the series. Eagerly waiting for season 5 and book 6, even though that is still a long way away yet.

Love it, but they really ought to get Strong Belwas in there. Dany's sections just aren't the same without him. This series will be the first time I'll be watching it along with everyone else since I only got caught up on the tv series after s4, so I'm looking forward to watching it with friends since their reactions will be brilliant to watch when eton mess goes down.

I love A Game Of Thrones, so much so after watching (well more like binge-ing on them) series 1/2 I hastily ordered all of the books and spent the next while reading them and falling in love with the series even more.

It's far too hard to name just one favourite characters so a few of my preferred characters are as follows;
-Jaime Lannister
-Jon Snow
-Tyrion Lannister
-Arya Stark

Having received my copy of series 4 I will shortly be starting my yearly viewing of Game of Thrones, aiming to have a nice double bill to watch prior to series 5 starting on Monday the 13th of April.

I also can't wait for The Winds of Winter to be released as there are a few areas of book five where things were starting to get thoroughly interesting regarding a few of the major plot lines. I've heard this is going to be released at some point in 2016 now more or less confirming that the TV series will catch up and overtake the books, spoiling the ending for the people who first read the initial book back in 1996.

Never believe anything that says when TWoW will be released, GRRM's going to take however long it takes to write it and nobody knows how long that'll be apart from him. 2016 seems like an optimistic guess, but it could just as easily be 2017, 2018, 2019... (God forbid it takes that long though)

Finished watching season 4 yesterday, and i really was not expecting
Tywin Lannister to meet his end via Tyrion's crossbow whilst sat on the toilet.
Can't wait for season 5, though sadly, i won't get to see it until the boxset comes out.

I really hope 2016 is when book 6 of 7 is finally released. Who knows though as it could easily turn into 8 or 9 books, the series was meant to be 3 books back when it was first written

It really wouldn't surprise me in the slightest if this turned out to be the case.

Only seen/read Season 1/Book 1 so far but my fave characters are:

1. Daenerys
She's lost so much and yet it seems like she's getting stronger than ever. Her last scene in Season 1 was epic! Probably boasts the best actor/actress in the whole show.

2. Jon Snow
The fact that he's laughed at for being a ba stard makes me root for him and the Wall scenes wouldn't be possible without him

3. Tyrion Lannister
-he's obviously a Lannister yet he seems to have made friends with Snow, which is interesting. Is he really evil or is there some good in him? Full of great quotes.

4. Arya Stark
-you go girl! Much better than her romance-obsessed sister, it will be interesting to see what she does with Needle. Maybe she'll be a key fighter in the war.

5. Ned Stark
-a great source of light among the sinners at King's Landing
gooseberry fool you Joffrey! Just when Ned had discovered the truth about Cersei and everything! Seriously, Joffrey's the worst of the Lannisters. Not only does he kill Ned and Septa but he also forces Sansa to look at their severed head. How romantic!
Special mentions go to Loras Tyrell, for eye candy, and Ghost, for obvious reasons.

it's a excellent programme tbh i have only watched up to the end of series 3 which was a ruddy shocker i tell thee haven't seen so much scrapping at a wedding since dai jenkins' in 09 only thing is it's got a bit of stone roses syndrome in that the fanbase puts you off

If i started talking about this show, i'd exceed the character limit. Let's just say it's the best Tv show i have ever seen. But I just know that G.rr.M is going to cruch my dreams so much in season 5.

Seen a few episodes of series 1, got hooked, wanted to order the books, never got round to it. I'll get round to it eventually but I've barely started yet.

I've been on a GOT history binge, and I must say, gooseberry fool Robert Baratheon. I hate him so much now, and I only wish Danny could've smashed him with his own hammer as revenge for Rhaegar. Rhaegar was a nice guy,Lyanna never liked Robert, and i am certain that they ran away together. And Robert killing Rhaegar is an image that instills so much rage in me, especially since he went on to let the lannisters brutally murder Rhaegar's innocent wife and children.
Goddammit George.
And btw, all of this happens before the show starts, so it's not spoiler material.
I think we can all agree that i`m a great asset to the human race.

Unfortunately, for me season 5 will have to wait, as the only way for me to see it is to buy the boxset. :(
