Pretty sure that bit and the bit where she walks through the market afterwards were to set up the fact that no matter where she goes she can't trust anyone until the Waif is dead because literally anybody could turn out to be her. So basically it's just teasing along the inevitable fight to the death.
Speaking of which, CLEGANEBOWL HYPE. I take back my misgivings, seeing the Hound again reminded me of how much I loved him in the first place so I'm glad he's back. The episode title was nicely misleading too, expected The Broken Man to be Sandor so it was nice that they turned it around to be Theon.

In regards to Sandor I think his fate will be to help the Starks retake the north and stand by Sansa and Arya's side.

what a gooseberry fool disappointment that was

cleganebowl hype is dead
lsh hype is dead
it proved arya's recent scenes were utterly gooseberry fool dreadful (she acted so out of character in episode 7 that people thought it couldn't be arya) (also that ending scene was awful and made zero sense)
tyrion's standup routine was pointless and horrendous, dany ex machina was laughable
and they gooseberry fool killed the blackfish of all people offscreen? seriously?

the only good part of that episode was bronn and pod

i didn't even pay for this and i want my money back

definitely in my bottom 3 for the entire show

What makes you think that?

But yeah, actually agree with you about the rest of it. That episode definitely wasn't the best.

Beric leading the BWB means that he hasn't given his life to resurrect Catelyn. Which sucks, because seeing the ASOS epilogue on screen would have been incredible.

Disappointing episode, just seemed to be backpedalling on a load of stuff that they'd seemingly been building towards (LSH, Arya vs Waif fisticuffs, Cleganebowl). Still enjoying having the Hound back but I feel like it's somewhat cheapened one of the best "deaths" in the show by bringing him back.
Next week should be good though, I always enjoy the big battle eps.

I thought it was an ok episode overall, not quite as bad as some people I've spoken to over the course of the day were making out but easily the worst episode of series 6 so far. Episode 9 looks fantastic though, they do the big battles really well on Game of Thrones, I have a gut feeling we will be seeing quite a few characters get killed though, got a funny feeling Ghost may be leaving the show as well, probably get killed by one of Ramsey's hounds or something ridiculous.

Neither do I! It just wouldn't surprise me one bit if he did with the way the show is treating the dire-wolves.

Taking a direwolf into a battle of that scale would be pretty dumb, soon as it pounced on an enemy soldier three more would be there ready to stab it to death. Hopefully Jon just leaves Ghost with Sansa to look after her.

Yeah it would be daft to take Ghost into battle, it just wouldn't surprise me if Ghost was by Jon's side and died a rubbish death.

I know Grey Wind was seen on the battlefield with Robb in the TV series (whispering woods springs to mind but I can't be certain, maybe it was Oxcross like in the books) and in the books Robb does take him into battle where he kills quite a few men and killed quite a few horses. Ghost hasn't exactly been in battles with lots of men before though so I suppose Grey Wind may have had a better understanding of what he could and could not achieve without dying unlike Ghost who probably doesn't have that experience.

Yep, a stupid, pointless (yet with good intentions on Summers behalf) death for a character.

Robb did it though didn't he?
The times he let Grey Wind loose were both night-time ambushes though. In the Whispering Wood Grey Wind would have had a big advantage in that it was a wooded area where he would have been harder to see, then at Oxcross it was a confused and chaotic camp of new recruits who stood no chance at resisting. Plus in both these encounters Robb had the superior numbers. And as Robbo has pointed out, Grey Wind had more experience in battle then Ghost ever has, he's only been involved in relatively small scale battles.

Ghost and Wun Wun are almost certainly gonna die to free up the CGI budget for more dragon scenes, Davos is probably also gooseberry fool because this show sure does love killing beloved characters for ~shock value~ (why is a dude with zero military training on the front lines, exactly?). Ramsay Sue is invincible, will probably kill Rickon because we need to be reminded that he's evil. Vale ex machina.

Those are my predictions.

Wun-Wun is toast for sure, I'm calling that his death comes at the inevitable "oh eton mess we're getting our arses kicked" montage (along with the bit in the trailer where Tormund and the wildlings are surrounded) just before Littlefinger or whoever turns up to save the day.

That is exactly what I thought, but then I remembered that GoT is an international series now and surely has the budget to have all the characters in. And yet, I still have a lingering doubt.

I agree, easily one of the best ever. The parts with Mereen were equally as good and didn't break up the rythm of the episode either.
