Everyone has a song that really resonates with them. What is yours?

mine's probably let it go, because I'm a massive cliche and that song is very much the anthem to 2014 for me

This was phrased in a strange way. Also I've moved this to music/tv/film/books since there's little reason for it to be in off topic.

Anyway, here's my post from desert island discs since it basically sums it up.
LFF wrote:Meant to take part in this earlier.

Nirvana -Lithium
This is the big one, when I was 9 my big sister lent me her copy of Nevermind and it blew my tiny little mind. Their songs captured angst in a way that I had never heard before yet coupled it with good songwriting and an understanding of light and shade (being heavily influenced by Pixies). It was tricky to pick a song off of the album but I settled on Lithium since, whilst I prefer other tracks now, at the time it was the one I would listen to way more than I should.

The Hives - Hate to Say I Told YouSo
I first heard this track when I was around 5 or 6 in my dad's car and - whilst I didn't form an active interest in music until I was around 9 - the sheer power and energy left an impression that has continued to stay with me and help further my interest in similar styles of music.

Stevie Wonder - I Wish
Stevie Wonder is a genius. As a bass player this particular song demonstrated just how gooseberry fool fantastic a groove can be and how it can make a good piece of music amazing. It opened my eyes to how a good musician can play a simple riff but create a much richer sound as part of an ensemble, whilst it sounds wanky it also makes me want to be a better musician and appreciator of music.

Pixies - Debaser
As a Nirvana fan I really should have discovered Pixies sooner; It was in 5th year (Scottish system, so I was 16) that I saw Fight Club and heard 'Where Is My Mind'. I learnt the song and when I played it an a music class a friend said that he preferred Monkey Gone To Heaven, I nodded and smiled having no idea what he was saying since I was playing "the fight club song". In a bid to be less ignorant and actually listen to their music I bought Doolittle and was hooked from the first handful of bars of Debaser, which led to me embracing the more strange aspects of music and myself because hell, if a weird ass band like can make this music then why even try and be normal?

New Radicals - You Get What You Give
Despite being a particular favourite of my parents (and what's basically the perfect pop song) I didn't properly listen to this song until last year. Last year was a strange one for me since I came off of anti-depressants, left school, got a job applied and successfully applied for university, and this song basically sums everything up for me; It preaches positivity and change despite less than ideal circumstances and it's completely right, with the right mindset you can get what you need.

The Cure - Just Like Heaven
My sister introduced me to The Cure and this song remains one of her favourite songs. Because of this I can't hear it without thinking of her.

Dan Le Sac Vs. Scrubious Pip - Angles
This song means two things to me. Dan Le Sac Vs. Scrubious Pip was my first experience with rap where I could relate to the messages and lyrics, opening the door to similar acts that captured my attention and made me appreciate the form. Secondly, the song is one of the most emotive examples of story telling in music I have ever heard yet also manages to convey a serious and interesting message present throughout the song.

Frank Turner - I Knew Prufrock Before He Got Famous
As well as being gooseberry fool fantastic, this song stands out to me as one with pertinent lyrics and a message that is both simple yet rather wonderful.

Nobody has said Black Skinhead and I'm honestly very disappointed.

I find it hard to choose, maybe this.

I don't really know what this means.
I feel like saying this for some reason. If I'm taking myself especially overly seriously then this version probably fits more. But yeah, there are quite a few other songs (of varying levels of melodrama) that I would consider putting.
