I thought it was a lot worse than the first film, and while enjoyable enough I'm not interested in watching it again. Baby Groot was the worst part, overplayed and underfunny, and a pretty obvious marketing vehicle. He's the film's minions.

The best part was the gold people piloting their ships like in an arcade.

This is exactly my thoughts on the film. A lot of my friends think I'm mad.

I really enjoyed the film, though I think the first one was definitely better. Of the many things wrong with the film though, I didn't think Baby Groot was one of them. I enjoyed his moments and didn't think they overdid him like I expected.

I was sick of baby groot after the dance at the beginning. Every time he was on screen I just though "MERCHANDISE MERCHANDISE MERCHANDISE MERCHANDISE MERCHANDISE MERCHANDISE MERCHANDISE MERCHANDISE MERCHANDISE MERCHANDISE MERCHANDISE MERCHANDISE MERCHANDISE MERCHANDISE MERCHANDISE MERCHANDISE MERCHANDISE MERCHANDISE MERCHANDISE MERCHANDISE MERCHANDISE MERCHANDISE MERCHANDISE MERCHANDISE MERCHANDISE MERCHANDISE MERCHANDISE MERCHANDISE MERCHANDISE MERCHANDISE MERCHANDISE MERCHANDISE MERCHANDISE MERCHANDISE MERCHANDISE MERCHANDISE MERCHANDISE MERCHANDISE".

I just enjoyed them because I found them funny. He only had 3 big scenes in the film, I expected a lot more.

That opening dance scene was just uggghhh from start to finish. It was basically everything I feared for the film right from the get-go.

Which is a shame because as a constantly rotating super long shot it was interesting.

Only reason I laughed at the opening sequence was because it had the same opening music as The Magic Roundabout movie. It's an unfunny scene, and the entire film hinges on looking nice, and Drax being fantastic. I did like that every character got a natural conclusion though.

Just saw Alien Covenant. Whilst a lot of reviewers have rated it averagely and similarly to Prometheus, Covenant is still very enjoyable to watch, and feels like an extra story that belongs in the franchise universe. A few ties to Prometheus do make this a direct sequel, so I would definitely recommend watching/refreshing yourselves on that. Plus, even though they are not fully essential, I would recommend watching the short prologue films as well, since they add an extra little bit of detail.

Watched Pirates 5 the other day, it's a much better sequel to the first trilogy than the fourth one was.

I really liked it but then I'm biased and, as long as the cast is there, would be perfectly okay with them making Pirate films forever, it's like Fast and Furious on water.

FYI, it has a post-credit scene if anyone's going to watch it.

Wonder Woman was much better than I expected it to be. Still turns into typical DC CGI-fest at the end though but nevermind.

Diary of a Wimpy Kid: The Long Haul. Certainly a little something worth watching if you like road trip movies. Pretty sure it used most of the staples of them. Pity none of the original cast were involved, but for the kids I can understand considering the amount of years between 3 and 4.

Watched Pain & Gain yesterday, and it is bloody hilarious (The Rock steals the show)!

Speaking of The Rock, I saw Baywatch yesterday. Don't see it unless there's nothing else on that you want to see and you simply have to go to the cinema for some reason. It's... the opposite of good.

I saw Alien Covenant yesterday.

I haven't seen Prometheus, but I suspect it wouldn't have been any less a gob of shite if I had.

Just saw Wonder Woman. Finally, DC/Warner Bros have made a great standalone superhero film, much better than all the new stuff they've offered so far. Great action and great acting. My only criticisms are that there's slightly too much slow motion for me, and there's not enough use of that amazing theme tune!

I think I worded that poorly. I meant that having seen Prometheus wouldn't have improved my experience with Covenant.

Prometheus is worse than covenant.

Covenant isn't as bad as c-m makes out

It's definitely not as flawed as Prometheus, but it still certainly has a few problems that only make it an alright movie

As someone who hadn't watched Alien before I watched Prometheus I really liked it. If I went back and watched it again I'd probably pick up a lot more on its flaws though. Still very interested to see where Covenant takes it, really ought to get round to watching it.

On the topic, Alien vs Aliens what's everyone's thoughts (the correct answer is Alien)

Off to see Wonder Woman tomorrow, looking forward to it and hoping that this'll be a DC movie that's actually good.

I am hearing a few good things about it though (trying not to see too much in case of spoilers) so I remain hopeful.
