Livestream of Indy, Alonso's just pitted from the lead, and Scott Dixon had a massive crash (thankfully he's ok).

Poor Alonso :(

Monaco was typical Monaco anyway, pretty poor race (in my opinion at least). I'm not sure I buy all the people saying they switched the Ferraris as well, seem to recall Kimi asked if they were pitting once Bottas and Verstappen made their stops so they stopped Kimi. As soon as that happened Vettel and Ricciardo were off like a couple of rockets and Vettel proceeded to establish a strong lead afterwards, it's not like Kimi was glued to Vettels rear. Obviously it could have all been a very convincing team order but equally it could have been Vettel doing a better job in the pit phase.

Yeah, it was only in the last few laps that he started to slip back down the field.

Still can't believe Sato actually won it though, i guess it shows just how well he could have done had he remained in F1 with a competitive drive.

Robert Kubica tested a Renault F1 car today...

Image

Is it possible that he could replace Jolyon Palmer at Renault?

EDIT: Renault are teasing it...

Definitely be an upgrade over Palmer, he just doesn't seem up to it. Suppose they could have been testing how his arm movement is, that was the main factor about an F1 comeback,

Kubica anywhere near an F1 car is great news, hopefully it isn't too late to show off what he can do

Very touching moment at the end of qualy today, won't spoil it for people yet to catch up on channel 4 highlights (if they haven't aired yet).

An exciting race for all sorts of reasons. Just amazing there weren't any safety cars last year

I must say also, Baku is one of my favourite tracks on the F1 2016 game, that last sector along the waterfront is absolutely mighty.

Well I've been at work today so only just had chance to watch the race and boy what a race, was fantastic from start to finish, mega job from Stroll and Ricciardo and superb recovery from Bottas. No idea what became of Vettel and Hamilton's incident yet (if there was anything post race) but it was very unsportsmanlike like from Vettel, Hamilton didn't seem to brake check him but certainly was going slower than needed, a weird one all in all.

Given that the Street circuits so far haven't been that great races this year it's a big surprise that the best race of the year so far was on a street circuit.

Mad race, one of the best ones in a long while. Although in the hybrid era it always seems like Riccardo ends up being the winner. Would have been amazing to see Lance Stroll win the race though, but great to see him on the podium nevertheless even though Bottas nicked 2nd off him at the last minute.

EDIT: The worst part about the race however is that jokes about McLaren and Lance Stroll can no longer be made...

Honestly have no idea how Vettel is saying he did nothing wrong in the post race stuff though, he clearly hit Hamilton, taking the sides of the insurers

Absolutely unacceptable conduct. If Lewis had done that, Vettel fans would be accusing him of assault and saying the police should be involved, gooseberry fool a black flag. People saying that this is what F1 needs need to sit the gooseberry fool down.

I'm actually surprised it wasn't a black flag, purposefully hitting a fellow driver shouldn't be penalised lightly at all.

There's still plenty of room for McLaren Honda jokes.

McLaren Honda would have been nowhere if the race wasn't so eventful though, a Red Bull, Ferrari, Force India and a Williams would have all most likely finished ahead of Alonso it it was a relatively clean race. It's probably why Boulier isn't overly ecstatic at the result of the race, bit of a fluke considering but at least both McLarens saw the flag which has been a rare occurrence of late.

No further action against Vettel then, quite right in my opinion considering it's just I over a week after the Grand Prix, if they were going to ban him from the race/results it should have been part way through the race and not a week after.
