I suspect a new contract will be thrashed out with Liberty, as the current one dates back to Bernie and CVC who did little except make bigger and bigger monetary demands for hosting races.

Obviously I want the Grand Prix to stay at Silverstone but I wouldn't be surprised if another track picked it up and got their track to the required F1 safety standards (please Brands Hatch! ;)) instead.

I'm saying this as while Liberty Media seem more open with the sport allowing Silverstone to re-negotiate a better deal would potentially mean all the other tracks can activate their get out clause to get a better deal for the next few years. The deal Silverstone is on is pretty stupid anyway (although it may be standard in the industry), meaning the cost raises by a % each consecutive year, can't remember the figure but they'll be paying a lot more in their final year than they were. Should have gotten a slightly higher price but not a % increase year on year.

One thing that would be a shame is if no other track took the British GP over, hopefully there'll still be one in 2020.

Not exactly surprising... Mercedes may have been an option but I doubt many thought the Ferrari rumours were true, looks like McLaren will be sticking with Honda for the time being then. Maybe they could switch in 2021 if Honda still haven't got themselves sorted out and Cosworth actually produce a decent power unit to go with the supposed new engine reg's coming into force, potentially in 2021.

Not a hugely exciting race today but there was a nice bit of tension throughout, that marks 4 weeks now till the next race :(

I think the biggest surprise was seeing Alonso actually finish the race.

Think most people thought this would be their strongest race for a while. They were right! Got fastest lap as well! Was a right laugh at the end with him on his deck chair beneath the podium

Indeed! Also the exchange after the race between Hulkenberg and Magnussen was good as well, without spoiling it (it really does need to be watched in my opinion) K-Mag is not a happy chap.
