General Football Discussion

Post by Aren142 » Fri Oct 24, 2014 6:54 pm

Because ONM's version was run by whoever, no one cares, I'm bringing it over. This is the place to discuss anything going on in the world of football. Bad result for your team? Vent here. An amazing goal to mention? go ahead. Want to laugh at how Man United won't make the Champions League? Sure thing.

I'll start.

Harry Kane is a better goalkeeper than Jack Butland. Discuss.

At least we have more chance of making the Champions League than Leeds, Hoyle.

Not really, it's roughly the same. You probably have more chance of making the Europa League though. I don't see us having a good cup run when we're STILL waiting for Milanic's first win. Hockaday would've been sacked by now.

I think i saw it somewhere the other day that Milanic's not that far off from the boot already anyway.

Who do we even play next, anyway? Oh...right...Chelsea. Ahaha...welp, we're gooseberry fool. Hazard & co will take our defence to the cleaners completely.

Well uh... Bury were having a good season right up until Shrewsbury came and walloped us 5-0. That was an absolute shocker of a game, that. Worst part was Jean-Louis Akpa Akpro, who we had on loan last season, scoring his first ever hattrick against us. Ah well, we've got the fantastically named Courtney Duggus on loan now so that's cool. Already got a terrific load of strikers with Nardiello, Lowe and Rose so we'll just have to see how this lad stacks up.

I am a Leeds fan. I'm not a believer in Cellino but I am pretty satisfied with his summer signings and the work ethic and passion for the club they have. Results have been inconsistent but I think we can finish in top half if this Milanic fella is given time (even though I've not been convinced with his negative tactics so far). It seems clear to me that he gets to pick the team but the diamond midfield formation that Cellino is trying to impose on all squad levels will only hinder the players we've got.

Was really hyped up about this season for Blackburn considering the finish we had to last season, but we've been bloody awful so far. Only thing I'm happy about is that it's not just Rhodes scoring all our goals now that Gestede is doing some pretty good things for us at the moment. Hopefully we can pick our form back up again soon.

Well I'm a Sheffield United supporter, obviously the clubs big story at the moment is about Ched Evans and if we will or won't give him another shot. At the start of the season I was hoping for a really strong season, were doing ok at the moment but considering how well we did between Christmas 2013 and the end of the 13/14 season I thought we'd continue that strong form for a guaranteed automatic promotion, seems like they're taking a while to find that winning form again though.

Happy with how Swindon have started the season, but we've dropped the ball a bit recently. Losing to Rochdale is far from ideal especially as it looks like we have a good team this season. Perhaps their inexperience is creeping in a bit but at least we have games in hand thanks to international callups from some of our players resulting in cancelled fixtures.

Couldn't care less for the game but I figured this was the most relevant place to post it.

Harry Kane deserves a Premier League start and to be called up for England. Also, Lamela with one of the best goals this year so far.

Harry Kane deserves a premier league start but an England call up really? Surely that's a step too far too soon.

He's performing better than how Townsend was when he was in form.

Dear Mark Cooper

Could you please play a defender in the back three alongside Jack Stephens and Jordan Turnball when Nathan Thompson is suspended?

Thank you.

But should Townsend have got in the team?

I'd rather Berahino then Kane.

Another draw and we're down to 9th.

The season was looking so promising at first as well, but I suppose there's still a long way to go so still time to continue challenging for promotion.

And Milanic is gone. This is just ridiculous. I kind of get it that he had the same number of games as Hockaday and didn't win any compared to the Hock's 2 wins. But the chopping and changing is just... WHY ;_;

I can't get behind Cellino at all. I want him gone. Is it so hard to find a normal person to run this club?

I wonder what the record for the number of managers an English club has had in one season is. I get the feeling Leeds will break it at some point.

Because Leeds don't have normal fans?

But seriously, it's kind of ridiculous what's happening at Leeds. Milanic wasn't doing terribly and had a decent reputation, but if Leeds appoint Redfearn they might do well this season.

Should never have been appointed in the first place, the second half performances against Rotherham and Wolves were nothing short of disgraceful. Redfearn will see out the season fine now, the players are there.

I'm kind of happy with Redfearn getting the appointment. Right up until Cellino happens and we probably lose him for no apparent reason.
