Really glad for Wales, it's great that at least one home nation has made it this far. Could see them getting past Portugal, though will be tougher than Belgium.

Fantastic result for Wales, I am really happy that at least one UK team is playing well

Penalty shootouts are always tense and I thought the pressure would have got to Joshua Kimmich but it didn't, plus Germany rarely loose at penalty shootouts (I don't think they ever have during my life)

The German's last loss in a penalty shootout is all the way back in the 70s to Czechoslovakia. Think they've now done 6 or 7 since without defeat.

Disappointed, but fair result I suppose and damn, we made the semi finals. I don't care what anyone says about easy routes. We got there. And how. Surpassed my hopes and expectations. And now we'll go again. Russia 2018. Why not?

Because the world cup doesn't usually allow for small nations with limited footballers to qualify for international tournaments, unless they've completely changed the format for the worse in that tournament as well. (joking obviously, still waiting for that English players on holiday instagram video celebrating the Ronaldo goal though).

Wouldn't it be lovely if there was a 7-1 situation in the final against Portugal. Pepe crying would be great.

That was the first time Portugal won a game in 90 minutes. Then again, they've gone the entire tournament undefeated so far.

New Zealand qualified in 2010, and it's not as if they have the largest population in the world.

They qualified from the Asia/Oceania group though, Wales will have to be one of the best in Europe.

Austria, Serbia, Ireland, Moldova and Georgia. It's very possible to qualify from that group.

And the winner is... Portugal.

Somehow. I suppose they had one of the best defences in the entire tournament even if they didn't look particularly convincing throughout.

what a joke that format is.
team that wins a whole 1 game in 90 minutes win the thing.

Extra time counts as part of the game
Portugal while not exciting, were very well organised throughout the tournament. France were not convincing themselves in most games. Gignac on instead of Martial was bizzare though
