Given that it's possible to do so without scoring, yes, they probably will, sadly.

I'd argue that England should beat everyone in Pot 2 bar Italy, everyone in Pot 3 and everyone in Pot 4 (bar maybe Wales). Of course, if a player for one of the other teams is in ridiculous form (like if Ibrahimović/Lewandowski turns up in big style) then we could struggle but on paper, I reckon we should beat them. However, this is England so on paper literally means nothing...

If that's the new England first choice kit then I'm not keen on the sleeves on that shirt.

What would everyone's First Choice XI for England be? May as well use the BBC's Staring XI Selector thing.
Here's mine:

Hard choice in midfield, apart from Dier, but if Rooney plays it should be in midfield. Of course, he won't be there but that's where his passing would be of better use.

Welsh version.
Northern Irish version.

Same as your team, except Cahill for Stones. I predict Hodgson will start Rooney upfront instead of Vardy and Henderson in midfield..

Not that it should give too much indication, but these are the England squad numbers

1 GK Joe Hart
2 DF Kyle Walker
3 DF Danny Rose
4 MF James Milner
5 DF Gary Cahill
6 DF Chris Smalling
7 MF Raheem Sterling
8 MF Adam Lallana
9 FW Harry Kane
10 FW Wayne Rooney
11 FW Jamie Vardy
12 DF Nathaniel Clyne
13 GK Fraser Forster
14 MF Jordan Henderson
15 FW Daniel Sturridge
16 DF John Stones
17 MF Eric Dier
18 MF Jack Wilshere
19 MF Ross Barkley
20 MF Delle Alli
21 DF Ryan Bertrand
22 FW Marcus Rashford
23 GK Tom Heaton

That said I don't think it gives too much away about Hodgson's intented first choice lineup considering that the one shown wouldn't make too much sense. Plus quite a few players have taken their club squad numbers (Henderson 14, Sturridge 15, Alli 20, Bertrand 21). I would be a bit concerned if James Milner was the only holding midfielder we played during the tournament.

Also, Slovakia beat Germany in a pre-season friendly, so they can't be taken too lightly. Especially when they have Hamsik.

I recognise a handful of the players in the Slovakia squad from Football Manager and yeah, they've got some surprisingly good players in there. Not sure what to make of Russia's squad on the other hand. Feel sorry for the commentators on both accounts though.

Pretty sure they're unbeaten in their last 7, not to be taken lightly.

Here's a team I think would give us a great chance.. Rashford on at half time or 60 minutes.. he needs a decent run out, not the last ten minutes.

Our defence is poor with four at the back, god knows what it would be like with those three

Also good to see Giroud find form just in time for the Prem...oh wait

I have a theory that Eden Hazard may have been saving his best form for Belgium in the Euros this season. If that's the case then Belgium could be a huge threat... depending on whether their defence can cope without Kompany.

Belgium vs. Italy looks like the first big match of the tournament... never thought I would say that.

Belgium have a strong team even aside from Hazard. Courtois, Alderweireld, de Bruyne, Dembele, Lukaku...
