Re: Pokémon Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire
Yeah, Gen 5 did what every generation after 2 should have done. New pokédex and focus on that until postgame, it's what fans have wanted and it was pretty solid. Great story for a pokémon game and an interesting idea with the region.

It's a shame that Unova is a bit naff, design wise
It's just a straight line before the Champion, at least other gens hid linearity behind a region that made you go around loops

Re: Pokémon Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire
Unova was a bit simplistic in terms of layout, but it did quite a bit of variety in locations. And seasons provided some nice variety. There was a lot off stuff in Gen V that was pretty good and didn't return in X/Y.

Like I said, it was nice in concept at least. One of the things I did like was how it seemed to be quite open for Nuzlockes where HM slaves weren't particularly vital to the run.Garf wrote:It's a shame that Unova is a bit naff, design wise

Re: Pokémon Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire
I don't want to make a thread just for this so i'm hijacking this one Edd. I know I swore that I wouldn't run battle factory if I came back but I read the threads on the archives and now I want to do it again. Would anyone be interested in playing another season if i did? Probably aim to do it around last week October when i have a week off work to get things set up. I'll need to talk to someone who's actually played this game in the past 15 months to discuss things regarding tiers and stuff though, and there's always a chance that this feeling will pass within a week and I don't want to run it again. I will keep you posted.

Re: Pokémon Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire
If it happens I'd be up for it (unsurprisingly). Going by the tour I recently ran, there's at least some interest for these randomised team games, if it does happen all I would hope for is that interest persists for at least a few weeks.

Re: Pokémon Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire
Speaking of potential tournaments how much interest would there be in a Monotype tournament? I remember there was one back on ONM a long time ago so might be worth regenerating. But I wouldn't want the forum to be saturated with tournaments etc.

Re: Pokémon Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire
Yeah, it's worth thinking about sometime, maybe give it a couple of weeks or a month or so and see what interest is like then. You're right about not wanting to oversaturate things.

Re: Pokémon Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire
If nobody else is planning to launch anything in the near future I might set up a tourney/competition of some sort, it's too quiet in here at the minute
Edit - although having said that I have just realised that Jen's randbats tourney hasn't technically finished yet but hey ho

I'd better win my comp to keep up the trend of the host winning then

Some people said they grabbed a couple in the Hoopa thread so look there. If not, since many of us don't particularly care for Game events I'd recommend checking out Smogon/Serebii.

Re: Pokémon Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire
Something like that is surely the next Pokemon instalment in the X and Y games or Generation 7 (we're due a new generation).
I'll be keeping my eyes peeled for this one!

Please, please, please be a new sixth or seventh generation game! If this turns out to be an announcement for the anime or another boring spin-off title, I'm going to scream.
This, however, I wouldn't mind.Pineapple wrote:PokéPark 3 confirmed

Re: Pokémon Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire
Speculation time.
What if we had a fusion of Hoenn and Kalos for Z? It would be interesting, would it not, to have one overarching story between the two regions. I don't think that would be too far of a stretch. Just add an airport to a major city in each region [well, Hoenn could have an island airport or something, given it would ruin the naturalness of the region].

Re: Pokémon Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire
No, not really. Spreading a story between two regions adds nothing to a game, particularly in such a shoehorned manner as just getting on an aeroplane. I seriously still don't get this infatuation people have with having multiple regions, it just adds playtime to the games, particularly in two regions with gooseberry fool all to do with each other. You want to explore Hoenn, go play ORAS, you want to explore Kalos, go play XY. There, I just gave you your multiple regions, go nuts.DarkRula wrote:What if we had a fusion of Hoenn and Kalos for Z? As for what the news could be, literally anything. Is it likely to be some news about a mainline game? Maybe, but that's 4 or so days after the Nintendo Direct in December which is infinitely more likely to be the platform they make a big announcement from so that'll be the thing to check out with CoroCoro summing up an announcement.

Re: Pokémon Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire
Isn't the Direct in December for Super Smash Bros though? Granted, the Pokemon news Corocoro teased could very well be Smash-related, but I'm more inclined to think it'll be either a new game or something to do with the anime.

Re: Pokémon Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire
It's just a general Ninty Direct with more Smash news included so far as I'm aware. Makes more sense that a big, international platform would be used to announce anything mainline than a Japanese restricted magazine that isn't providing information to the target overseas demographic. I can't imagine many 10 year olds in here or in America following CoroCoro announcements afterall.
