Just going to casually plug the fact I'll be running the Premier League Prediction Thread in Sport over here as of Monday, so for those of you who are football fans, come and join in. It's simple enough to play.

Can I get a pink name when I ask for an Ex-Moderator badge, or do I have to keep the black one?

Re: Welcome to Super ONM!
Did I miss out on the anime discussion?
I can't let it die!
Anyway, when deciding whether to watch the anime or read the manga, it's generally preferable to experience the original work. Very often the anime will be adapted from the manga, in which case you should probably read the manga. But sometimes the reverse is the case too. If the original work happens to be a light novel or a visual novel, then you'll just have to read those first.
As for the whole dub/sub thing, the whole argument is a bit silly really, since there's really two aspects to it. When most people say they prefer to watch anime subbed, they don't really mean they don't want to watch it dubbed, but that they want to watch it with the Japanese dub and with English subs. On the other hand, some people like to enjoy English dubs with English subs. Or just the Englush dub without any subs. I personally prefer watching with the Japanese dub but without the subs. Subs tend to be an unnecessary distraction when it's simply repeating what is being spoken.

Are there any other NHL fans around here?
Yes, this is a stupid name. I was 14 when I came up with it, and 6 years later I still can't think of anything better

Hey, I don't know if anyone recognises me, I used to post mainly in the Pokéforum a couple of years ago but occasionally elsewhere.
I wasn't really that active in the last year or two but I'll probably be a bit more active here.

Re: Welcome to Super ONM!
I can never find a way to actually watch the games, and also I didn't have a clue which team to follow, none of them really called out to me. I only started watching hockey last year too, I've not been a long time fan.OrangeRakoon wrote:Why follow the NHL when you could follow British Ice Hockey over here.Galactik wrote:Are there any other NHL fans around here?

Re: Welcome to Super ONM!
Penguins seem to have quite a big international/online following, and are generally pretty good. Can't remember what sites I have used to stream a few games in the NHL (it was only for Stanley Cup a couple of years back) but it worked well enough, the only trouble is the time difference.
But yeah, it's a great sport! Olympics is a good time to watch because it actually gets coverage on TV here.

Yeah, there's always plenty of streams for NHL games, I meant that I don't watch British hockey because I can never find a way to watch that.OrangeRakoon wrote:Penguins seem to have quite a big international/online following, and are generally pretty good. To start with, I knew nothing about the teams, so I just picked the best named one, and who can say no to penguins? After that I've found the online communities of penguins fans to be pretty welcoming and active so I've stuck with them.
Don't get me started on the time difference. The game last night started at 00.30 so I thought I'd maybe watch the first period but it was a fun game and I ended up watching the whole thing and going to sleep at 03.30.

As for British Teams, clearly Coventry Blaze are the best B)
Depends what part of the country you are in though. The south is quite lacking in top teams compared to the midlands/north/Scotland.

Forum properly opening tonight, somewhat worried that it will make the ONM of old a ghost town but then again it should result in less eton mess on here.
