I believe the reason they gave for changing it was to keep the jump button as the one closest to the analogue stick.
This makes sense and I am now satisfied with the change
And as I forgot to mention earlier, anyone else been using the face/directional buttons to jam along to the music during loading? The analogue sticks also change pitch/time. Kind of miss the minigame options but music jamming is a nice nintendo touch

Managed to achieve that also yesterday which was a great moment, one I'll likely not get again. Played again today and it was still fun. Just a shame I ended on the sour note of 3 consecutive games being pinned back at the base the entire time.
Ever since joining the original ONM I've been a huge Nintendo fan (specifically Zelda) and am looking forward to some great discussions. I was previously known as Lego Master

Testfire has made me realise how rubbish the Switch WiFi is. I can't play it upstairs at all.
Yeah I've found this too - Switch will rarely connect in the games loft whereas the Wii U was fine 95% of the time. Hope it's something they can fix in an update or something. I still might be tempted to get it though as I found playing it using the grip and the stand was great.
suffered the same problems last night when i tried to play with it docked, how can it work so well undocked 2m away from it being docked where it doesn't work at all??

Currently Mainly Playing:
Switch: FIFA 18 and Rocket League

Thought the Testfire was at 12 on the Saturday, so started the download twenty minutes before that time. Checking in with Nintendo Life made me realise it was almost over, so I quickly jumped into a few games with the dual-wielding splatters. First time got a win, and over 2000 points. Same again the other times. That was on the TV, and it looked great. For the 19:00 time, I was in tabletop mode the entire time [well, I cheated a bit on that score and used a 3DS dock to give a better view of the screen]. Tried out the other weapons, and tried with motion controls off for some games. Hardly ever did as well as when I had the Splat Dualies.
Pretty fun and looking forward to the full game.

Played a bit on Friday night and while I did get disconnected a fair few times it was really enjoyable, the motion controls are abysmal but thankfully you can change to button controls and the maps were pretty good.I like the new Splat double guns, they were fun fast and I like the little dodge you can do with them.

seems there is a new sea urchin character called murch who perform a service called gear scrubbing where he'll wipe the sub abilities off your gear and give them to you as gear chunks which when you have enough of them you can use them to give other pieces of gear that same ability
I'm bad and that's good. I will never be good and thats not bad. theres no one id rather be than me

in splatoon 2, maps will rotate every 2 hours instead of 4, which was on previous cycle. this will keep it fresh!

That is still terrible. The rotation stuff doesn't really fly.

Yeah, it is a bit of an archaic choice. At least expand it from 2 Maps, but really it should just use Mario Kart's system.
The only argument for is so you can optimise your weapon choice for the current map selection, but that doesn't outweigh having to play the same map over and over again.

And that wouldn't be a problem if we were at least allowed to swap weapons in the lobby like we can do with character/kart in 8 Deluxe.
Three or four maps to choose and a random option that will select from every single map in the game. At least you have a decent chance to have the map selected that would be useful with your weapon type.

When Splatoon 2 does eventually release, I think we need to put the Lean, Mean, Dream Inking Team back together again...

I don't really mind the two-map-rotation, especially with the 2 hour period instead of 4 hours, but it is annoying when you're stuck with two maps you hate.
PM me if you decide to add me on 3DS or Wii U

Yeah it's not too bad really. Means we can snipe for certain maps and go gung ho in others!

Well that's made the ending of the Squid stories like 800% more predictable.

I would think/hope it will come down on Amazon to at least 45 before launch

That sure was a lot of fun. Unfortunately, I don't have a Switch. So you'll need a substitute.
We really should have played more on the Wii U original.
Hell, I'm still game, if anyone else is!
