Re: Nintendo E3 2017 - Spotlight at 5pm!
Samus Returns looks pretty much like I'd imagined a 2D Metroid on 3DS to look like, albeit a bit lighter and I dig it. Never played any of the original handheld games so I'm doubly grateful for this remake.

Re: Nintendo E3 2017 - Spotlight at 5pm!
Kind of underwhelmed tbh
Xenoblade 2 is always going to be hype and the world looks awesome, but still not sold on the new art style and the story seems kind of confusing so far (like who exactly the two protagonists are) and they didn't really show much gameplay either
Metroid Prime 4 is cool news but hard to get hyped without seeing, same with Pokemon Switch
Fire Emblem Warriors I'm excited for but I'd like to see some gameplay first, like I know it'll be your standard Dynasty Warriors fare for the most part but I'd hope they're putting in some FE tactical stuff too (like directing battalions to different areas of the map or something?)
Kirby and Yoshi look super cute and fun but not particularly exciting
Mario Odyssey does admittedly look really fun and cleverly designed (as expected) and the hat mechanics look good, but it isn't really enough to carry the whole show
So yeah it's nice to see games on the way but overall not as good as I'd hoped.
Edit - forgot Treehouse was on after the spotlight, what have I missed other than Metroid?

Re: Nintendo E3 2017 - Spotlight at 5pm!
Mario Odyssey was before Metroid. Mario + Rabbids was on after.
I am just simply amazed at the community for getting a half hour extended version of Odyssey up on Youtube within an hour of that trailer going live, and now I can't stop listening to it.
I highly doubt it is an exaggeration to say this is the Breath of the Wild of Mario.
Yoshi, Kirby, main-line Pokemon for Switch. Yup. My Switch is sorted for the next year.

Caught up with a bunch of the trailers. Mario Odyssey is just the stuff of dreams, dear lorrdy. I'm not super invested into the Metriod games but I'm happy to see Samus finally back. Not really sure what to think of everything else tho. I mean I would have much preferred if they waited to announce Prime 4 and Pokemon Switch until they had actual gameplay to show >,>

Man, why wouldn't they put Superstar Saga remake front and centre?

Need to catch up on the treehouse stuff but that'll have to wait till I'm back from work tomorrow, direct was great in my opinion, lots of stuff shown and announced. Metroid Prime 4 and (what sounds like) a proper Pokémon game on the Switch is just the stuff of dreams
In short what's been announced on the treehouse sections past a Metroid remake?

Mario and Luigi Superstar Saga is getting remade on 3DS with the Dream Team/Paper Jam Graphic style and entirely new side story that follows what happens after the Koopa Cruiser crashes.Robbo-92 wrote: ↑Tue Jun 13, 2017 10:11 pmNeed to catch up on the treehouse stuff but that'll have to wait till I'm back from work tomorrow, direct was great in my opinion, lots of stuff shown and announced. I was worried beforehand that Nintendo wouldn't delivered, but for a 25 minute presentation they did a bloody good job. Glad to see they focused on the Switch and they pumped out reveal after reveal.
Plus 2 Metroid games, thank you Nintendo, thank you for listening to fans.

When I saw the second Metroid game announced on Treehouse, I thought I heard Nintendo saying "Happy now, are you?" in my mind in the sort of voice an aggravated person might say when forced to correct a mistake.
Certainly is a good time for fans. Now where's my Pilotwings.

They're showing more Mario Odyssey than I'd like to be seeing so I gotta be careful about watching these streams now >,> ARMS and Pokken tourneys later today which should be fun to watch.

I'm loving this new Yoshi game (working title); incredibly detailed with dozens of cute incidental details in these two stages alone, it's hard not to. Loved Woolly World so really looking forward to this.

Re: Nintendo E3 2017 - Spotlight, Treehouse, Splatoon 2
I'm not watching much of Mario Odyssey, the little bit I have watched looks fantastic though.
Don't actually know how I'm going to have time to play the games I'm planning on getting for my 3DS and Switch later in the year. So far I'm planning on getting Splatoon 2, Super Mario Odyssey, Mario + Rabbids Battle Kingdom, Xenoblade Chronicles 2, The Legend of Zelda Breath of The Wild (so I can play the DLC alongside replaying it) and then Skyrim, again. Then I'm getting Pokémon Ultra Moon and Metroid Samus Returns for my 3DS alongside the VC release of Pokémon Gold. I've then got a few 'maybe' (which weren't maybes a short while ago) in Hollow Knight, Pokken Tournament and FIFA 18.
Still got to buy a Switch as well.....
Going to be an expensive year gaming wise for me.
